My mother aged 19 and grandmother are pictured here around the time they were deported by cattle train to Auschwitz on 1st June 1944. On arrival at the terminal seen in the picture they were selected by Dr. Josef Mengele for the Vernichtungslager C (Extermination camp C) and the rest of the family went directly to the gas chambers. My mother and grandmother were liberated by the Russians 80 years ago today. In view of the shameful exploitation of the Holocaust to justify the crimes of Israel, Palestinian representative to the UN Majed Bamya put it eloquently: He said that exploiting, instrumentalising the Holocaust in this way is a desecration of the memory of the victims. "Never again" means never again to anyone.

Went to a big fire call last night, & this mornings walk was late & weary & slow.
But a gang of 30+ yellow tail black cockatoos swept in. Amazingly charismatic birds, you have to feel happy around them. Pure magic.
Even a local 'roo was intrigued.

TikTok horse girl who competes in "hobbyhorsing" is slamming critics who tell her that riding a fake horse is not a real sport.
This may be the funniest thing I've seen all month.
The wood stick horse rider posted a video of herself panting and hyperventilating after performing her "dressage routine."
"'Hobbyhorsing is not a sport, it’s easy and everyone can do that' Oh yeah?" the girl said on

Something that worries me is that Labor put forward in the Safeguard Mechanism reform with 5,000 loopholes.
In negotiations, they'll agree to fix 5 of the less significant ones, and Australia will have a climate policy with 4,595 loopholes
