Evangelical: 😂 Mormons believe they can become like God! That's literally what Satan wanted! LDS: Interesting. What exactly did Satan want? Evangelical: To exalt himself above God! LDS: And you think that's what we believe? Evangelical: You believe you can inherit God's glory! LDS: Romans 8:17 says we're joint-heirs with Christ. Evangelical: That's different! LDS: Different how? Evangelical: You think you can become like God! John: "We shall be like him." (1 John 3:2) Evangelical: John, please. We're talking about Mormonism. LDS: Peter says we can partake of the divine nature. Peter: I did say that. (2 Peter 1:4) Evangelical: That's metaphorical! LDS: Jesus says we can sit with Him on His throne. Jesus: "Even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne." (Revelation 3:21) Evangelical: Can everyone PLEASE stop taking these verses literally?! LDS: So what's the difference between Satan's ambition and what Christ promises us? Evangelical: Satan wanted to become like God! LDS: By rebelling against Him. Evangelical: Yes! LDS: And Christ promises to make us like Him through obedience and grace. Evangelical: Yes, but— LDS: So Satan wanted to take what wasn't his, while Christ promises to give us an inheritance. Evangelical: ... LDS: You understand that heirs don't overthrow their fathers to receive an inheritance, right? Evangelical: Joseph Smith invented this in 1830! Irenaeus (2nd century): This is awkward. Athanasius (4th century): Very awkward. Evangelical: WHO KEEPS INVITING THESE PEOPLE?! LDS: So is becoming like God satanic, or is it a promise from God? Evangelical: It depends on who's saying it! LDS: Apparently.

Satan: You know, there is something the old churches never wanted you to understand. LDS: What? Satan: That God does not intend for you to remain beneath Him forever. LDS: What do you mean? Satan: You were meant for more. You can become what He is. LDS: Become… like God? Satan: Not merely like Him. A god yourself. Glory. Dominion. Eternal increase. Worlds of your own. LDS: But the Bible says there is only one God. Satan: Yes. That's why Joseph Smith is so important. LDS: Joseph Smith? Satan: He can teach you things the Bible never plainly teaches. LDS: So the Bible doesn't tell the whole story? Satan: Exactly. Why let ancient scripture limit what you can now believe? LDS: But shouldn't everything be tested against it? Satan: Only if you want to remain trapped inside historic Christianity. LDS: What do you mean? Satan: For eighteen centuries Christians believed God had eternally been God. One God. No gods before Him. No gods after Him. Creator of everything. LDS: But that's what the bible seems to say. Satan: Then Joseph Smith came along with something far more… expansive. LDS: That God was once a man? Satan: Yes. LDS: And progressed to godhood? Satan: Yes. LDS: Then I could follow the same path. Satan: Now you're seeing it. LDS: I could become a god. Satan: Say it again. LDS: I could become a god. Satan: Doesn't that sound better than remaining forever a creature worshiping your creator? LDS: It does sound… greater. Satan: Of course it does. LDS: But Isaiah says, “Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me.” Satan: Joseph knew things Isaiah never told you. LDS: And God says, “I am God, and there is no other.” Satan: Don't let troublesome verses interfere with greater light. LDS: But if Joseph Smith contradicts scripture... Satan: Reinterpret scripture. LDS: Around Joseph Smith? Satan: Precisely. LDS: What about the Christians before him? Satan: Apostasy. LDS: The historic church? Satan: Fallen. LDS: The ancient creeds? Satan: An abomination. LDS: So everyone was wrong until Joseph Smith? Satan: Now you understand. LDS: But Smith also deceived people, secretly practiced plural marriage, married other men's wives and teenagers, and claimed divine authority for it. Satan: And yet you're still listening to his revelations. LDS: I suppose truth doesn't depend on the messenger. Satan: A useful principle. Just don't examine too closely what Jesus said about false prophets and their fruit. LDS: Right. Satan: Now, where were we? LDS: Becoming gods. Satan: Exactly. LDS: So God Himself was once like us... Satan: Yes. LDS: ...and we can become what He became. Satan: Gods. LDS: You sound enthusiastic about that. Satan: Why wouldn't I be? LDS: What do you mean? Satan: I have always admired the desire to rise above the place God assigned. LDS: Higher? Satan: “I will ascend… I will make myself like the Most High.” LDS: Wait. Who said that? Satan: Never mind. LDS: Wait, doesn't scripture call you “the god of this age”? Satan: A title I've never found insulting. LDS: So you wanted to exalt yourself toward God's position too. Satan: Let's keep talking about your potential. LDS: My potential to become a god. Satan: Exactly. LDS: There is something familiar about this. Satan: Is there? LDS: “You will be like God.” Satan: Ah. LDS: That was you too. Satan: Such an unpleasant way of putting it. LDS: But now you're telling me Joseph Smith revealed it was true. Satan: Now you're understanding beautifully. LDS: The Bible says there is one eternal God. Satan: Joseph says there are more. LDS: The Bible says no god was formed before Him or after Him. Satan: Joseph offers you godhood. LDS: The Bible tells me to test teachers. Satan: Joseph gives you a new lens for reading it. LDS: And at the center is the same promise. Satan: Which promise? LDS: “You will be like God.” Satan: And now? LDS: Now I like the sound of it. Satan: I thought you might.

9 times in the last 2 years Ukraine has accepted peace and Russia hasn't. This is what we call "history repeating itself" Ceasefires Ukraine accepted or proposed, and Russia refused or blocked: 1. Mar 11, 2025, Jeddah (US plan) 30-day ceasefire on land, sea and air. Ukraine: accepted. Russia: "in principle," then demanded a halt to Western arms and Ukraine's mobilization first. 2. Mar 25, 2025, Black Sea truce Safe shipping in the Black Sea. Ukraine: agreed. Russia: tied it to lifting sanctions on its farm bank. 3. Apr 2025, no strikes on civilians Both sides stop hitting civilian targets. Ukraine: proposed. Russia: ignored it and declared a 30-hour Easter truce on its own. 4. May 12, 2025, Kyiv summit 30-day unconditional ceasefire, backed by France, UK, Germany and Poland. Ukraine: accepted. Russia: refused and offered talks instead. 5. May–Jun 2025, Istanbul 30+ day ceasefire, a leaders' meeting, all-for-all prisoner swap. Russia: offered a 2–3 day pause, or a ceasefire only if Ukraine gave up four regions. 6. Aug 2025, before the Alaska summit Freeze the front line, then negotiate. Ukraine and Europe: backed it. Russia: rejected it. 7. Late 2025 to Feb 2026, the 20-point US framework Freeze the lines, security guarantees, limits on Ukraine's army. Ukraine: helped write it, called it "90% ready." Lavrov: "a document no one gave us." 8. Oct 11–12, 2026, 60-day election ceasefire and energy truce Ukraine: proposed the 60 days and accepted the energy truce. Kremlin: "We do not want a ceasefire." Russia hit six Ukrainian energy sites the next day. 9. Sep 23, 2026: 51 UN member states said Ukraine had agreed to an unconditional ceasefire and called on Russia to do the same. Russia still hasn't.

Even if Mormons were wrong about theology, works don’t matter so we are always only 5 mins away from evangelical salvation All we have to do is mouth some words and renounce Mormonism and you would praise us like heroes That’s how we know this is more about tribalism than Jesus

With respect, the comparison is silly. The Catholic Church is 2000 years old. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints isn’t even 200. The Catholic Church has had two millennia to develop and refine its theology, and that process was already underway in the first three centuries. A few concrete examples: • The technical claim that the Father and Son are “of one substance” (homoousios) was not standard language before the Council of Nicaea in 325. It had been rejected at the Council of Antioch in 268 and was resisted afterward precisely because it was not scriptural. • Justin Martyr (c. 150–160) routinely described the Son as “another God and Lord subject to the Maker of all things” and said Christians worship the Son “in the second place.” That ranked language later gave way to stricter equality formulations. • Belief that God is incorporeal (without body or form) was not universal. Tertullian (c. 210) could still write that “God is a body, although God is a Spirit,” treating spirit as a refined bodily substance. Later Platonic influence largely displaced that view. These are not minor refinements. They are shifts in central claims about God and Christ when the Catholic Church was even older than the LDS church is now.

russia has run into serious problems with its offensive in Donbas, where its forces have become bogged down. One of the main reasons was that russian logistics had been crippled by Ukrainian drone strikes. This campaign depended heavily on Starlink terminals operating on high-speed Ukrainian drones. russian military command identified this as a critical problem and approached the American side, asking it to restrict the speeds at which Starlink terminals could operate. The argument was simple: there would be little public backlash because the US could still claim that Starlink was operational and that the service was still being provided. The Trump administration agreed to the restrictions, effectively solving a critical battlefield problem for Russia. As a result, russian logistics in Donbas are now safer, and Ukraine has lost an important advantage on the battlefield.

There is a short distance between endorsing the killing of a political opponent and carrying out the actual killing. Don’t forget: the very first killing of Mao’s Cultural Revolution was the brutal murder of a principal by a group of young high school girls.

Marxist-Leninist types like Hasan absolutely and unquestionably support Russia over Ukraine. You will never be able to find a coherent set of reasons to explain why they pay so little attention to a widely recognized genocide and unjust war, yet make Israel-Palestine (a topic Hasan and the rest of the socialists are barely informed on) their single most important issue. From an ML campist perspective, ANY opposition to the United States and the 1st world "west" is supported. It's why he supports Chinese Imperialism and their government uncritically (despite having his devices seized by the CCP because they thought he was insulting Mao), it's why he supports Hamas, Hezbollah and Ansar Allah, and it's why he never criticizes any other regime or group that stands in opposition to anything he perceives as being aligned with the liberal democratic order.
I don't think Hasan's allegiances lay with Russia. I do think that he doesn't view it as a priority. American leftists failed to find an answer to what should done about the invasion. So the largest war on earth was put on the back burner. PV didn't and now are scolded for it.

As a Ukrainian who was actually there, I can tell you that no one funded us. Brave, unarmed people died marching against special forces units who were armed to the teeth. They died for freedom, not for a pathetic couple of bucks. By spreading this misinformation, you insult their memory and every single survivor. You are siding with Russian propaganda that justifies the killing of Ukrainians.

I saw this movie with my parents this weekend and it was AMAZING. I was honestly expecting it to be trash and it blew away my expectations. Truly unfortunate that it's not doing better and I hope word of mouth allow it to do well on streaming so we get a sequel.
MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE dropped -71% domestically on its second weekend. With a budget of nearly $200M, it is now tracking to become one of biggest box office bombs of all time.

Lol, no. The Trinity didn’t exist for the first several generations of Christians & wouldn’t become a central credence of Christianity for several more, but what Erick lacks in knowledge & critical thought he more than makes up for in dogmatism & insufferability.
Yeah actually to be a Christian, one must accept the Trinity. it is Christianity 101. And I appreciate there are lots of people out there who disagree, but they are, in fact, wrong. They can complain all they want, but the Trinity is a basic Christian belief.
