Armed guards at the door. Opioids offered on repeat. Apple Pay at my bedside. Welcome to the American Emergency Room. The French think it bankrupts you. Americans think France does it for free. I’ve been to the ER in both. Both are wrong. Mountain bike crash, dislocated and fractured shoulder. I’m French, I live in San Francisco, and I take slightly too many risks. Let’s compare. Security 🇺🇸 Kaiser in Marin. Three armed guards and a metal detector. My phone set it off, so with my shoulder out of its socket I walked through again. And again. Then a pat-down. 🇫🇷 A couple of unarmed guys with walkie-talkies. Still not sure what they’re for. Wait 🇺🇸 Three people in the waiting room. Seen in 15 to 30 minutes. 🇫🇷 Broken hand: packed room, 4 hours before anyone touched me. Records 🇺🇸 Kaiser is vertically integrated. Insurer, hospital, doctors: one system. They had my file before I sat down. 🇫🇷 Every new doctor is a fresh context window. Zero history, maybe a printout from last time. Infrastructure 🇺🇸 Small hospital, serious kit. Straight to the trauma bay: real bed, IV, vitals monitoring, ready for surgery if needed. All imaging on the spot. 🇫🇷 Broken hand: a plastic chair and a Doliprane. Drugs 🇺🇸 Strong opioids were the default offer. I said no. They insisted. The doctor came in personally, confused why someone in that much pain would refuse. I stuck to Tylenol, an anti-inflammatory, to put the shoulder back in. Yes, it hurt. No, I didn’t tap out. My mom is proud of me. 🇫🇷 Broken hand: Doliprane, opioids never mentioned. I have friends who got their shoulder popped back in with nothing at all. US default: opioids. French default: Doliprane. Bill 🇺🇸 Every nurse warned me: “You’re French, this bill is going to traumatize you.” Before discharge, someone came to my bed to collect payment. Apple Pay, from the hospital bed. $300. For everything. On a ~$500/month Kaiser plan. 🇫🇷 A flat ~€20 ER fee, usually reimbursed by your mutuelle. The real bill shows up later, on your payslip (see below) followup 🇺🇸 Kaiser called me right after to set up follow-up and physio, all in their system. So far, so good. 🇫🇷 Broken hand: discharged, figure it out yourself. A friend dislocated her finger. They put it back in wrong, sent her home with bad instructions, it locked up, and she needed surgery months later. Still not fixed. “Free healthcare” in France It’s not free when your marginal tax rate nears 70% with social charges. And if you want quality care fast, more and more people pay for private clinics anyway. Verdict One person, one data point. But the care was 10x better than anything I’ve had in France, for a price that’s completely fine. France has a lot to learn. And yes, I refused the narcotics to stay sharp enough to launch a NanoCorp from my hospital bed. Launch your first company run by an AI agent: nanocorp .so

Flavio Bolsonaro was able to leave Brazil on an ITALIAN passport that he had due to La Lega’s rules on citizenship by descent. (Right-Wing) He was transported safely to Argentina with his family and let in by their authorities due to intervention by Milei. (Right-Wing) The plane then transported him to Ecuador where they were able to get on a jet into the United States of America. (Right-Wing) Political asylum was directly granted by President Trump & Marco Rubio. (Right-Wing) Not a single Leftist country was involved in this, except Brazil of course… the one he was fleeing for his life.

In this alternative reality, the opposition leader who is out of power fleeing into exile, and the father who is in prison are the authoritarians. And the guy who controls all security forces of the state, the electoral system, and largely the media through state subsidies, and who ordered a travel ban on his opponent within seven minutes of being declared the winner of the presidential election after having his former lawyer acting as judge extend the closure of the polls and suspend the counting for two hours is the democratic man representing the will of the people. Please follow @AOC for more daily comedy and satire.
Yesterday, Brazil showed the world that the will of the people is stronger than the authoritarians who try to suppress it. Congratulations President @LulaOficial and congratulations Brazil.

HOLY CR*P 🚨 Santa Ana California Councilmember Thai Viet Phan admits that ONE THIRD OF THE ENTIRE CITY IS ILLEGAL She says she wants the 1/3 of the city that’s undocumented immigrants to be able to vote and is proposing legislation “Nearly one in three adults in Santa Ana cannot vote — the reality is that a large number of our residents are undocumented, are paying taxes, do work in our communities — People don't feel represented by their government locally and federally. It's clear, or one of the reasons is because they're not allowed to vote — I think that is the most American thing to do, is to say that everybody who lives here, who cares about this community, has a voice. And by allowing noncitizen residents — to be able to participate in our government makes our city safer, makes our city more vibrant, and makes our communities stronger” They don’t have a voice BECAUSE THEY AREN’T SUPPOSED TO BE HERE Notice she specially said undocumented. Meaning they are not just noncitizens, they are people without status. They do not have a green card, they are not here on a Visa. Undocumented means ILLEGAL A council member literally just admitted 1/3 of her city is ILLEGAL Luckily the legislation to allow the noncitizens to vote was rejected by residents Deport them all. We need ICE in Santa Ana, California

This is how the dirty commies behave in the United Nations. Imagine how they behave when their disarmed population asks questions about their deep corruption. Inside their communist hellhole, they can silence critics and disappear them. But not in the United States. Yet…

No wonder the Cubans were jumping up & down trying to silence Ambassador Mike Waltz. What he is saying is TRUE. Calling out the communists for their outright hypocrisy - getting richer than rich off the backs of their own people. While Cubans line up for days just to put gas in their cars, these people are living the life of kings & queens. And selling their marxists BS to our kids, teaching them to hate the American hand that feeds so many. The hand of liberty & freedom and equal rights. What a threat the truth is to the hypocrites in Cuba. Back off is right - the United States under this President is not your bitch. For now the leftists/globalists are NOT in charge. This is the age of the people - wethepeople.
The Cuban regime’s corruption is staggering: They relax on their private island while their people go without groceries and electricity.

BlueChip. Built in America. America made the first electronic computer to win a war. Now we depend on our greatest adversaries to build the computers that run our economy and defend our nation. Today, we bring it home.

My uncle did a mission trip to Africa to teach a village how to raise pigs for food. They flew in with a bunch of pigs, built pens for them, Food and water troughs, and taught them how to breed them so they could always have meat. Two weeks of work and teaching. They went back a year later to check on the village. They had thrown a giant party the night after my uncle left, slaughtered and ate all the pigs, sold the feeders and fencing, and were really pissed off that the mission didn't bring them more pigs.

The Muslims murdered so many men and raped so many Christian women as they blitzed across the former Roman world that they turned the North African and Levantine world from looking Mediterranean to looking Arab There can be no coexistence with the great evil that is Islam, or its practitioners. They are the enemy of God and His people
Peaceful coexistence and respect between different religions.

🚨🚨 BREAKING: Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper ADMITS that Barack Obama directed he and James Comey to carry out the Russia hoax in order to frame President Trump and members of his campaign. His exact quote: “Jim Comey and I were part of the group that were tasked by President Obama to put together all of the reporting that we had on the Russian interference.” With the walls closing in, it appears that these men are getting desperate and beginning to sing like a canary on the big fish, Barack Obama. Clapper, Comey and former CIA Director John Brennan are rumored to be cooperating with authorities to help solidify their MASSIVE case against Barack Obama. It’s all unraveling now right before our very eyes. JUSTICE IS ON THE DOORSTEP.

True
If, by the way, the same situation that just happened in Brazil had happened but with the parties switched -- if Bolsonaro had won last night's election and then a pro-Bolsonaro judge sent the Federal Police to seize Lula's passport and bar him from leaving the country -- every major western media outlet and liberal NGOs would be screaming about the authoritarian attack on Brazil's elections and the destruction of basic freedoms.

I don’t think folks in the USA understand how dystopian and anti-freedom China actually is.
