Remember Kent Street Apartments (133 homes)?
First lodged in '21 and removed from planning committee at the last minute in Nov '24, the site has risen from the dead - aptly, so close to Halloween - and has been APPROVED following a key S106 legal agreement. 👻🎃

A Grade II listed Chapel in Digbeth is to be renovated & brought back into use again!
Fire-damaged buildings will be removed to deliver a sloped 45-bed aparthotel, designed to bring in natural light & complement the chapel's architecture, while creating a Euro piazza influence.
The former Chapel, built in a basilican-Lombardic style with a campanile tower in 1912, will undergo masonry cleaning, removal of unsympathetic additions, and reinstatement of original features.
A new stair in the campanile will also provide access to a viewing platform.

📣 Digbeth Loc. Studios is the preferred development partner to deliver a major new creative and mixed-use neighbourhood at Fazeley Street in the heart of Digbeth, Birmingham.
✅ It's a a significant step forward in the continued regeneration of Digbeth, helping to strengthen Birmingham’s growing reputation as a national hub for film, television and creative production.
❗The leader of the council said, this is great news and an important milestone in the continued regeneration of Digbeth, one of the most vibrant areas of the city, complementing the work we are already doing across Digbeth to improve the public realm and support its distinctive cultural identity. Digbeth Loc Studios is already playing a huge role in the city’s development as a major filming destination and creative hub.

Birmingham really should be doing more to promote the diversity of its architecture. Take a look at these wonderful builds & examples of great architecture. #LookUpBirmingham is a campaign with maps & trails launching later this year to showcase the very best of Birmingham.
📍#Birmingham Smithfield, Plot 3
On the advice of planning agents, Plot 3 for a Grade A office workspace has seen its footprint reduced.
The building, now 180K SF, with one core and two terraces, is now seen as 'optimal' to cater to market demands & maintain project momentum ✌️
The former, larger footprint, at c.260K SF NIA, was designed to target a specific occupier's requirements.
Unfortunately, that occupier has since fallen away, resulting in the above changes.
The Tower Ballroom site, adjacent to Edgbaston Reservoir, is to be reborn with 95 affordable two-, three- & four-bedroom apartments & townhouses - social rent & shared ownership - complemented by a series of landscaped pocket parks.
Keon Homes x Midland Heart x @GlancyNicholls
The plans also include a flexible Class E commercial retail unit (facing the reservoir), suitable for a modest retail unit or café.
All new homes will be equipped with Air Source Heat Pumps, PV panels, EV points, high EPC ratings, dual-flush toilets, and LED lighting.
