what’s the best way ‘to introduce’ mathematics? by ‘stringed’ music: doubling/halving strings for ‘octaves’… ‘fractions’ for ‘notes in between’… logarithms/exponentials for calculations. certainly not by ‘long division’ and ‘times tables’…

never has a school produced such a multitude of vacuous, vain and thoroughly undereducated sorts, as church of england ‘private high school’…

the only way to improve infant/primary school teaching is to remove women teachers (patta keh ullu) from student-facing roles. they’re responsible for indoctrination of times tables and percentages by my recollection.

for those not clear, ‘uluu ka patta’ (‘son/husband of a hooded woman resembling an owl’) is the most offensive insult in hindi… superseding most famous one involving sisters.

‘logical positivist’ (einstein etc.) - not only are they being positivists but also logical about it… like double positivism.

if costume>>actor, then whatever it’s about; is about costumes and so expensive actors can be fired… turned into ‘show about costumes’…

if you’re ’representing’ something by ‘lines/arrows’ - eg ‘3d vector forces’ or ‘steve going to post office’ - it doesn’t mean steve actually thinks in terms of ‘lines/arrows’ when going…

when ‘electrical current’ is considered as follow of electrons and positive holes, this left/right reductionism is lacking.

there’s nothing ‘observational’ or ‘empirical’ about ‘1 🍎 + 1 🍎 = 2 🍎 🍎’ - how would visually impaired understand this, or can’t they do mathematics? ‘1+1=2’ is a ‘tautological definition’ in applied mathematics and isn’t valid - eg in ohm’s law.

no matter how small their class size, gobby miscreant will be just that… finding some excuse not to listen… study football theory…

1: decaying school infrastructure. 2: overcrowded classrooms. 3: university admissions system they view as socially unfair. point 3 is deserved: why should serious students (maths/chemistry/…) be made to convene with slackers (business/sports/…) …?

remember: the girls from ‘robin’s nest’ are still around but in ‘reall life’ and not drama… still as gosh darn dim as ever…
