Yall. I know I’m supposed to have a side in all of this. But I guess I’m just on the side of normal people. Am I alone in feeling like I’m just kind of done with all the politicians? Where were all yall a week ago? What are you actually going to DO about all of this? Enough words.
Not only did @NESpower cut spending on tree trimming - the company was also fully aware of the risks this posed. Tennesseans deserve better than this failure and negligence.

At the request of the TN Emergency Management Agency, TNNG Soldiers and Airmen are supporting the Nashville Electric Service by clearing debris to assist their power restoration efforts. This is in addition to the ongoing recovery efforts in Shelby, Hickman, and Hardin counties.

Found this last night. If accurate, it would mean 7 out of 4,028 outages are currently assigned to teams.

Nashville needs a serious infrastructure upgrade. And a more mature approach to emergency management. 3 days after the storm and many people are unaccounted for in homes that are likely dropping into 30 degree indoor temp. Apartment buildings and nursing homes are having to be evacuated. We will find out afterwards what the impact was. Having lived in Iowa, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts I can tell you this is not how it has to be. Every storm doesn't knock out power and roads for three days- with every elected official giving themselves kudos for the great response. Time to grow up

Friends, some of you know I live in Asheville. My family is safe and our home undamaged although we're still without water, power, etc. But we need help. You can assist by:
1. Donating to a relief org. Here are some local agencies + one of my favorite global orgs, World Central Kitchen. They are all doing great work on the ground.

2. Don't RT conspiracy theories. Criticism is welcome, but the crazies aren't helping the recovery and are demoralizing many people.
3. Cheer loudly and beat Bama.

Holy shit. This is Tennessee right now — the day after Republicans expelled Justin Jones & Justin Pearson. Young people are pissed off. Change is coming like we’ve never seen before. Republicans messed with the wrong generation. Gen Z will save us.

This nation was built on peaceful protest. No elected official should lose their job simply for raising their voice – especially when they’re doing it on behalf of our children.

Van Jones: Why did you not go to the ethics committee? You have not done this to anybody except for two people in 200 years. You can't tell me that they have not been people who have also been disruptive. You've had people that have peed on chairs.

They did it. They actually did it. #tnleg just expelled two Black men (and not a white woman) as their legislative response to someone killing children in Nashville. Shameful. #TennesseeThree

Cigna uses an automated system that allows “medical directors” (doctors employed by @Cigna) to deny a claim in 1.2 seconds without opening the patient’s file.
Please read this, share it, and help us (metaphorically) burn these companies to the ground.
Doctors at a major US insurance company deny tens of thousands of claims a month without even looking at patients’ files.
“We literally click & submit,” a former Cigna doctor told @ProPublica & @Capitol_Forum. “It takes all of 10 seconds to do 50 at a time.”
