When I read this fight in the manga, I said "It'd be cool if they got a hajime no ippo veteran to direct this." This was because I wanted someone with experience in boxing to work on this But seeing this... they went above and beyond everything I was even hoping for.

Fun fact: even Japanese boxers were credited in the episode! (As ボクシング取材協力) This was probably done to provide references and ensure that the fight was as accurate as possible.

This was the first time I punched the wall, btw. When he fixes up his hair as he gets ready to fight. I was so beyond hyped. When the chains connected, I straight up started screaming. #BlackClover #ブラッククローバー #ブラクロ

This isn't a fan-colouring. This is from an actual episode of Black Clover. How is this real life? #BlackClover #ブラッククローバー #ブラクロ

Genki Muro, Magna's voice actor stole the fucking show. The screams were from the soul. He has done something uncontrollable. The overall direction and Minako Seki's music... I was left speechless. The sound effects? UNREAL. Insane... #BlackClover #ブラッククローバー #ブラクロ

INCREDIBLE finale and overall great season. It feels SO unique. I still don't love the character designs and the pastel aesthetic but damn do I love everything else. So excited for more. #AvatarSevenHeavens book 1 >>> Atlab and LoK book 1s EASILY. Not even a competition atp.

Man I can't WAIT to edit together all the Lucifero episodes into a full movie length experience.

This close up of Lucifugus' face is something i REALLY appreciated from the anime. It's like the void and you're staring right at it. Definitely raises the terrifying factor a lot.

If the actual episode effects are different from what we see here in the OP, then I think it's safe to have at least a tiny expectation of the stars being a different colour.

Ik when ppl review stuff, they just talk about what catches their eye, but to think I saw 0 sakuga-based reviews even bring this up is wild... This is something that can apparently never be recreated in TV anime again because of the complexity and workload. No comments? Really?

"C’est une méthode de réalisation qu’il ne sera plus jamais possible de reproduire dans une série TV." 🚨 Le réalisateur de l’ÉPISODE 4 de BLACK CLOVER, Ji-Eun Park, explique que la GLACE MAGIQUE nécessitait près de 20 COUCHES D’EFFETS VISUELS superposées pour obtenir le résultat final ! Un travail d’une complexité rarement atteinte dans l’industrie de l’animation. 🔥

In case my take gets misrepresented (intentionally or not), my problem is not with people thinking the recent episode wasn't good. My problem is that their reviews weren't substantive enough. My criticism of these reviews is of their form, not their nature.

If an episode can have a "can never be recreated" type aspect to it and accounts focused on analysing that very aspect of episodes never even touch on it in their so-called analysis, then clearly there's a quality problem when it comes to your analysis.
