The Pentagon is treating a rash of freezer malfunctions that affected refrigeration and freezer units at commissaries at several U.S. military bases in August as a suspected cyberattack, according to four officials familiar with the matter who spoke to Reuters. The Pentagon said a Cyber Command unit is “working in close coordination with interagency and law enforcement partners” in the ongoing investigation. At least six on base commissaries were affected in late August, per Reuters’ review of base social media posts. In at least one case, the cooling units’ temperatures were raised overnight, resulting in spoiled food. Fort Huachuca, Arizona, posted that its freezer “went into defrost mode where it heated up all the food.” One official said investigators have been in touch with French counterparts about a similar attack that hit more than 350 French supermarkets earlier this month. From a War Department official: “Army Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia, who was part of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was fired by Secretary Hegseth for severe misconduct. Although Sylvia’s title was director of the Directorate for Strategy, Plans, and Policy at the Joint Chiefs of Staff, known inside the military as the J5, he was NOT a central planner for the Iran War. That is the responsibility of CENTCOM and its commander Admiral Cooper. Sylvia is the subject of an investigation for leaking classified information about the Iran War, the war between Russia and Ukraine, and more. Due to the Pentagon’s media policy requiring journalists to have escorts in the building, Sylvia began meeting with journalists outside of the Pentagon in order to leak classified information. Sylvia failed three polygraphs which questioned him about leaking classified information. The investigation into him remains ongoing and has been referred to the Department of Justice for further action. The extent of his leaking became so critical that Secretary Hegseth took immediate action and fired Sylvia in order to protect national security. Urgent action was needed and could not wait another second.”
Exclusive: Pete Hegseth has fired another top general in the military—presaging more upheaval in the Pentagon’s upper echelons as Trump looks to break the stalemate of the war with Iran, @nancyayoussef reports: theatln.tc/FFJyeZxV

The takeaway of this php thing should not be “the world is ending today”. Rather it should be “the software status quo was bad, and you should assume 70% of the Internet is already rooted by one three letter agency. AI helped us catch this and remove it from ongoing risk”

Guess who was boxing Calley Means out and stalling the MAHA agenda? Susie Wiles. Who is trying to keep RFK Jr. on a leash? Susie Wiles. Who is keeping MAHA movers out of government roles? Susie Wiles. Who co-chaired a lobbying firm that represented Pfizer, and was lobbying the FDA for a tobacco company as recently as 2024? Susie Wiles.
EXCLUSIVE - Top RFK Jr. ally and adviser Calley Means has quit the Trump administration. Means was frustrated by White House delays of some of Kennedy’s popular food policies and blamed others in the administration for allowing food companies and special interests to have too much sway, people familiar with the matter said. One of them described him as “disillusioned.” wsj.com/politics/policy/call…

Trump needs to clean house.
In January 2025 my mom’s lung cancer spread to her brain. The drug with the best chance of helping her was approved in China but not here. A doctor told me, almost as an aside, that if she were Chinese she could buy it at a pharmacy. So I flew to Shanghai and came home with 26 boxes in my luggage. That was 19 months ago. My mom is still here, still working, and in her words has had an amazing three years. The drug was approved in China in 2023. The FDA approved it in July 2025. It still is not for sale here. I know of at least 30 Americans who have made the same trip. I have been scared to tell this story because I worried it could cost my mom access to the medicine keeping her alive. But the problem matters more than my silence. These drugs need to be developed and available here, and that means FDA reform. Art Allen at KFF Health News told our story this week. It also ran in The Washington Post. kffhealthnews.org/health-ind…

Much of Cormac McCarthy's success is realizing this & (in the literary world) returning to it, conserving it. His prose was an alloy of Hemingway, Faulkner, & Bacon's crew. The result: he sounded like an American existing simultaneously across & speaking from all eras.
Replying to @goinggodward
A family friend once asserted that the conversational/ literary finesse & eloquence of Southerners was a consequence of the KJV. As the 1 book nearly everyone read, or had read to them, it infused our speech with beauty & vitality. Moving away from it was to our detriment.

Trump Accounts may soon be expanded even more to anyone under 40yrs old. That would be another 100 million people, on top of the 70 million kids and 3.5mil babies born each year. This according to Brad Gerstner who is the main guy spearheading efforts on this. He also said Elon is 'tip of iceberg' Nice scoop and piece on it from @LydiaMoynihan @nypost

The changes include: - Adding 17 million dates of death to files that previously didn't have them w/ help from State Dept. - With help from DHS, updating 25 million files that had missing citizenship information. - Correcting an additional 8.5 million records with inaccurate citizenship data. MAHA must focus on protecting and strengthening our seafood industry: "Over 80% of the seafood that is caught here in the United States is exported overseas. It's processed in China and it can be labeled 'U.S. Wild,' 'U.S. Caught'... we don't know what chemicals they're using. They're using slave labor." - @ChefGruel 📽️Watch my new documentary, American Seafood: For Our Health and Economy...
American Seafood: For Our Health and Economy New documentary 📽️ It’s time for America to act like the sea power we are and Make America Healthy Again—from sea to shining sea. Our country is an ocean superpower with unmatched sea resources—yet we import the vast majority of the seafood we eat. Government overregulation has driven fishermen out of business and our seafood industry overseas. Harnessing our waters fully would strengthen health, national security, and economic vitality. T-Mobile spent five years trying to get rid of the exact spectrum Elon just called "the last critical piece" of complete phone coverage in America. This 800 MHz block is Sprint's old Nextel spectrum, the stuff that powered push-to-talk walkie-talkie phones in 2004. The DOJ forced T-Mobile to divest it as a condition of the $26 billion Sprint merger. Dish had first rights at $3.59 billion and walked away because it couldn't raise the money. T-Mobile finally offloaded it to an investment firm called Grain Management last year for $2.9 billion plus a spectrum swap. Grain's original plan was selling it to utilities for private networks. Fourteen months later, SpaceX buys the whole portfolio, and shares of the carriers who passed on it fall as much as 8% in a single afternoon. Here's why it matters so much. Starlink's satellite signal at 2 GHz can reach your phone outdoors, but it dies at the first wall. 800 MHz penetrates buildings. Most phones already have the band built in. So satellites handle the open sky, this low-band layer handles indoors, and suddenly Starlink Mobile covers everywhere a normal carrier does without the tower network. Stack the moves. $17 billion for EchoStar's 50 MHz of 2 GHz spectrum. FCC approval for 15,000 Gen2 satellites this week. Now the low-band coverage layer. Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile paid $81 billion in a single auction for C-band spectrum in 2021, then spent years and tens of billions more deploying it on towers. SpaceX assembled a nationwide carrier out of a distressed-asset sale, a forced divestiture castoff, and rockets it already owns. The walkie-talkie spectrum from 2004 ended up being the piece that lets satellites replace cell towers. Nobody who touched it for twenty years saw that coming.
We announced an agreement to acquire a nationwide low-band spectrum license portfolio that will pave the way for @Starlink to become a major mobile carrier in the US. With this new spectrum and our Gen2 constellation, Starlink Mobile can ensure Americans have access to high-speed mobile broadband no matter where they are → spacex.com/updates#starlink-…
