Ethiopia was the first country in the world to totally ban fossil-fuel vehicle imports in 2024. This week's Nordic-Africa EV Summit held at the magnificent science museum in Addis, showed this isn't just policy but instead, it's a bankable opportunity: 200+ e-mobility companies already scaling continent-wide such as EV fleets, storage-backed charging and fleet electrification, moving from pilots to platforms. I spoke on the summit's finance panel, where investors, governments, DFIs and industry operators came together to unlock capital for Africa's electric mobility future. My view is, financiers including our investment bank, @CBECapitalSC (a partner of the summit), who move early will define the next decade of African mobility. The landmark summit was organized by the Norwegian-African Business Association (NABA), in partnership with Ethiopia’s Ministry of Transport and Logistics, the African Union Commission and Addis Ababa City Administration alongside the Nordic Embassies of Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark in Ethiopia.
