Really interesting move by the Big Ten. It feels like this will only help the SEC and hurt the Big Ten. Some programs like Ohio State, Oregon, Michigan, USC, etc. are going to really hurt from this with how much they spend on football alone. Curious to see if other leagues follow
NEWS: The Big Ten chancellors and presidents are adopting facets of what’s in the Protect College Sports act, in what the league says is the bill’s “anticipated passage.” This includes a cap of athletic spending of $49 million per institution on athletes. Per the release Big Ten conference-level rule limits institutional involvement in arranging third-party NIL agreements to a maximum of $27.5 million per member institution. (That's permitted by the House Injunctive Relief Settlement).
This has been one of my worries with the 24-team playoff. Will the committee reward/put in teams outside of the Big Ten and SEC, like Oregon State this year? Or will they continue to put in the middle tier teams from the “better” conferences? I feel like it’s the latter. More sec

“I hope the NCAA actually does care about student athletes, ALL student athletes, not just the ones in the SEC and the Big Ten.”
He emphasizes accessibility to all teams in the FBS, and suggests all conference champions being able to be in that playoff, similar to the NCAA Basketball Tournament.
“Well, this kid, he puts on his pads just like this kid in this other conference. He has to come in and work under the same rules, stipulations…within the NCAA’s bylaws that the kid at another conference has to.”
Really think Kamario Taylor stays home and plays at Mississippi State next year. Especially if the 24 team playoff does happen, Mississippi State will be in a very good spot to make it and compete for a national title.

There is not a throw on the field that Drew Mestemaker can’t make. He’s catapulted himself into the top pick in the nfl draft conversation. Can’t help but see Josh Allen when you watch this.
I get showing love to the reigning champs… but this is a rough GameDay. Feel like USC or Texas Tech would have been a better option. Or this week would be a great chance for a Group of 6 or FCS to host.
