Your Gamecocks will be going bowling for a 4th straight year after a 24-0 victory over New Mexico State🐓 - This is the best a JSU team has played defensively in quite sometime. They made NMSU one dimensional for all 4 quarters, totally taking the pass away. James Jones made some plays for sure but a timely interception by Marc Woods and a couple missed field goals preserved the first shutout since 2023 vs Eastern Michigan - For as strange as the game was offensively, we moved the ball well and dominated time of possession, only punting one time. But just had an inability to finish drives with points of any kind for the middle parts of the game. I was very happy with how well we ran the football against a team that was leading the conference in yards per carry entering the contest. Caden Creel, Justus Savage, Jalen Likely, and Company ran all over the field eclipsing 300 yards. In fact, Creel’s 211 yards is the 8th highest such performance in school history and the top rushing performance ever by a quarterback - This was a really nice overall performance and the best we have looked on the road in maybe two seasons, if we would have finished some of those drives off early in the game the score would have been more lopsided than it was. Either way this looked like a team that can win this league - Midweek continues to be a great time to be a Gamecock, 5 wins in a row and 4-0 in conference play Let us know all your thoughts below👇
