Dabo Swinney NEEDS to be fired after this season:
-Did not get a QB out of the portal, Tait Reynolds is 72/76 P4 QBs in PFF grade (min 76 drop backs)
-30-17 over last 4 seasons
-Not using all of the NIL at his disposal to show "loyalty" to players that don't deserve to start for Clemson
-Doing a disservice to the great players on the team who have earned the right to go out and win games
-Hired an inept OC in Chad Morris because of his prior relationship with Morris
There isn't a coach in CFB I have more respect for than Dabo Swinney but his inability to embrace the portal is no longer sustainable. It's time for a change.
UCLA will NOT make the College Football Playoff at 10-2
-Lack of marquee wins, currently 63rd in sos remaining sos is 56
-Committee will use QB injury to justify leaving them out for 9-3 SEC team
-Losing 2 games down the stretch to the likes of Minnesota, Michigan, USC will not bode well for perception
UCLA can only afford 1 loss if they want to make the CFP
The MOST UNDERRATED Qb in College Football:
WVU QB Michael Hawkins
-Tied 6th nationally with 15 big time throws
-Tied 1st in total TDs with 27, just 2 INT
-10th nationally in total yards per game
-WVU 26th in PPG averaging 33.6
WVU can compete for a B12 title if Michael Hawkins returns for 2027
Baylor coaching hot board: Gj Kinne Texas State
38-21 as a HC, 26-19 at Texas State. Electric high powered offense. This is only an option if he is bringing star Qb Brad Jackson with him and WRs Beau Sparks and Chris Dawn. Concern with Kinne is they are underperforming based on talent. 4-3 right now should really be 6-1. In 2025 Texas State was 1-4 in one score games and -2.0 in second order win total which is horrible. I don't love the idea of Kinne but if you can give him resources to hire a good defensive and game management staff paired with the best players coming in from Texas State I think it's a fine hire. Baylor fans let me know.
Top Baylor players to watch for transfer portal with the recent firing of Dave Aranda
1. CB Devon Jordan 3 PD 3 int 70.8 coverage grade 81.3 tackling grade. From Oklahoma and transferred from there, also visited Oklahoma State in high school who I would peg as the favorite.
2. QB Dj Lagway. Not sure what's next for Lagway, he has been fine in his rehab tenure at Baylor. Is a P4 starter, maybe stays home or maybe reunites with Sun Belt Billy. Prediction: James Madison
3. LB Kyland Reed 34 tackles 2 sacks. 63.6 Run defense grade, 66.1 tackling grade. From Texas and committed to Baylor out of high school, could retain but watch for Oklahoma State and Houston.
Many of the impact players on defense are out of eligibility. Going to be a full rebuild for new staff.
With the firing of Dave Doren here are the top NC State players to watch for the transfer portal
1. Edge Elijah Satchell. True freshman with 4 sacks, 79.9 pass rush grade, 75.9 Rdef grade. From NJ, visited Kentucky but was recruited by Brad White is now at Florida. Expect big schools to be involved.
2. QB Cj Bailey: Baileys stock has dropped some, and 34 Big time throws to 42 turnover worthy plays is not a good career mark. He is a mid tier P4 QB with upside IMO. UCF or Florida State if he wants to go home.
3. WR Keenan Jackson 30/456/6 1.99 Y/RR. North Carolina kid so could retain him but bigger schools will be calling. HS recruiting profile was all local schools VT, Duke, UNC, Maryland.
4. RB Duke Scott 358/4 5.8 YPC. 4.89 yards after contact. From Georgia, expect some bigger schools to get involved.
5. TE Preston Douglas 25/299/1. Visited South Carolina and is from Florida so early leans SC and Florida schools.
A lot of the starting caliber players are Seniors especially upfront so unless they get 5th years won't be a lot of talented players on this roster. Think it is somewhat realistic that they retain these players if they hire Phillip Rivers. Maybe get Bailey cheaper after his poor performance and won't have to outbid Miami.
