The politicians whose rhetoric has fed into these explosions of racist violence up and down the country should be held to account

First they said they needed data about the children to find out what they’re learning. Then they said they needed data about the children to make sure they are learning. Then the children only learnt what could be turned into data. Then the children became data.

Not a fan of TOWIE or similar shows but decided to watch Gemma Collins’ doc about self-harm. I was left feeling quite sorry for her I must say. The child who felt under so much pressure to compensate for her Mum’s trauma that she wasn’t allowed to have her own feelings :(

It’s about time we admitted our political system of lobbying, consulting knighthoods etc is completely corrupt and do something about it thetimes.co.uk/article/45b77…

Watching #Evicted on BBC & it’s really making me think about who the system in this country is actually working for, because it’s certainly not working for the average person

1/2As a parent who has struggled immensely through yrs of inadequate support for childcare costs I have so many feelings about the announcements in today’s budget. It’s taken me by surprise actually. So pleased that something is finally being done but also sadness, anger&grief

2/2 for what we have been forced to go through. Who knows, I might have even had another child if the situation hadn’t been so ridiculous.

Thanks to this Government, junior doctors can now make more money serving coffee than saving patients. From tomorrow we take #JuniorDoctorsStrike action so we’re paid what we’re worth.

Incredibly disappointing. Feel sorry for all those who have been working hard to push for a proper solution. Once again the Tory gvt shows their utter contempt for anyone not a member of the elite

Relaxing ratios is the opposite of solving the issue of a sector in crisis. It’ll add risk, pressure on staff, lack of confidence from parents to feel kids are safe when dropped off… and does exactly nothing to address the cost issue. #childcareisinfrastructure

Is there anyone else out there who is or has previously been in the position of trying to finish their thesis for the DClin whilst working FT in their first ‘qualified’ position? This is me at the moment & I’m finding it beyond hard!

Watching Mark Gatiss’ powerful interpretation of a Christmas Carol. Feeling the resonance of its message harder than usual this year. If only the wilfully blind in our society today could be made to see also!

Sometimes I wonder how much of my life I’ve wasted thinking I’m not doing something right when actually I’m just not doing it like someone else does it

Think @ellieflynn deserves an award for this. She really went above&beyond to highlight this issue. Heartbreaking but so powerful. Hope that it instigates meaningful change
