This is what a real Community looks like.
Patients & Caregivers. Doctors & Clinicians. Researchers & Advocates.
Different experiences. Different perspectives.
But ONE shared purpose:
To change the future of Kidney Cancer.
Today, we came together with one voice because progress doesn’t happen in isolation.
It happens when Patients share their experiences, Clinicians bring what they see every day, Researchers pursue the next breakthrough, and Advocates make sure those voices are heard.
For me, THIS is what gives advocacy its power.
We aren’t simply asking for Research Funding. We are showing what that Research can mean in someone’s life: Another treatment option, Another clinical trial, Another chance, Another tomorrow.
There is incredible science happening in kidney cancer. Our job is to make sure it has the resources, collaboration and urgency needed to keep moving forward.
One Community. One Voice. One Mission.
More research. More options. More tomorrows.
Proud to stand with the entire @KidneyCAN Community and everyone working to create a different future for people affected by kidney cancer.

Today wasn’t about numbers on a page. It was about what those numbers can make possible.
I’m still here because years before I needed them, researchers had the resources to pursue an idea, and patients were willing to take a chance on a clinical trial.
Research gave me another option when I needed one. And those options gave me time. Now we need to make sure the next patient has that same chance.
The science is moving. We cannot allow the funding to fall behind.
Senators @SenWarren & @SenMarkey: Massachusetts has an incredible kidney cancer research community, and patients across the country are counting on continued federal investment.
Please help us protect that progress and keep kidney cancer research moving forward.
Proud to stand with @KidneyCAN and this incredible kidney cancer community.

For the next patient who needs another option.

For all the tomorrows still waiting to happen.
The science is moving.
We need to make sure the funding moves with it.

@KidneyCAN Needs Every Voice: Patients, Caregivers, Researchers and Doctors. Please Join Us Next Week and Help Keep Progress Moving.
Your friend with cancer doesn’t need you to have the perfect words. They need you to show up. To stay. To treat them like the same person they’ve always been.
Sometimes the best gift you can give someone surrounded by cancer is a little bit of normal. 😉
Special thanks to Cure for sharing my latest piece: What Your Friend with Cancer Really Needs.

I’m still here 10+ years after a Stage IV kidney cancer diagnosis because Research gave me more options, and more tomorrows.
I’m asking other Kidney Cancer patients & Caregivers to join me for @KidneyCAN Advocacy Days later this month.

"I am passing the mic to someone who saved my life."
And quite honestly, there are so many of you out there that donated in the past to the Jimmy Fund Telethon that I will never get a chance to meet or thank.
Ten years ago, I didn’t know how much time I had.
Today, I know just how precious that time is.
Cancer research and clinical trials have given me something I will never take for granted, more time.
Time to watch my four daughters grow up. Time to celebrate milestones we once weren’t sure I’d see. Time to become “Pop” to my grandson Charlie. ❤️
That’s why moments like this and @TheJimmyFund Telethon mean so much to me.
Behind every breakthrough is a researcher who had an idea, a doctor who refused to give up, a patient willing to try, and a donor who made the work possible.
I’m incredibly grateful to @DanaFarber, @DrChoueiri, my family, and everyone who has helped give me these years.
But there are still patients waiting for their breakthrough.
More time. More memories. More tomorrows.
They don’t happen without all of you.
And we still have work to do. ❤️
Let's Break a New Fundraising Record Tonight!

But more importantly, THANK YOU!!

A SPECIAL ASK TO ALL THE GIRL DADS OUT THERE.
You know there’s nothing you wouldn’t do for your daughters. When I was diagnosed with cancer, all I wanted was more time with mine. Research helped give me that time.
Today, as the @TheJimmyFund Radio-Telethon continues, I’m asking my fellow girl dads to help another dad get more time with his girls.
The next graduation. The next wedding. The next hug. The next ordinary day together.
Someone else’s generosity helped make my tomorrows possible.
Today, let’s help make someone else’s.
Please give:

Thank you to everyone who watched @DrChoueiri & me on @NESN this morning.
Ten years ago, I didn't know how many more Christmases I'd have with my family.
Research has given me graduations, a wedding, anniversaries, and the chance to become promoted to "Pop” with the arrival or our grandson Charlie.
Those moments were made possible because people I will never meet chose to support cancer research.
Today, you can do the same for another family.
Please support the @TheJimmyFund & @DanaFarber . Every gift helps fund the research that gives patients something priceless: More time. More memories. More tomorrows.
Please donate: jimmyfund.gives/guest

5 DAYS TO GO.
Next Monday and Tuesday, the 24th Annual @TheJimmyFund Radio-Telethon returns to WEEI/NESN, and these two days mean a lot to me.
Cancer Research has given me ten more years I once wasn’t sure I’d have. Ten more years with my family. Ten more years of milestones, memories and ordinary days I thought I might never see. People who I have never met and who donated to this telethon in the past, are the reason I am still here.
On Monday, I’ll be joining my doctor and friend, @DrChoueiri on NESN around 6:40 a.m. to pay it forward, talk about why the Jimmy Fund, @DanaFarber and continued investment in cancer research matter so much.
Here’s why next week matters...
Please join us. Together we can #KCancer
Clinical trials have helped keep me alive for more than a decade. I know firsthand that finding the right trial at the right time can change everything.
That’s why I’m excited about @KidneyCAN’s new Clinical Trial Navigator, helping kidney cancer patients more easily find trials that could provide their next option.
Patients shouldn’t have to become experts at searching for clinical trials while fighting cancer. We need to make it easier to find the science, understand the options and know what to do next.
For some of us, a clinical trial isn’t just research.
It’s hope. It’s another option. It’s more time.
