Caddo Mills Boys Fox Basketball

Caddo Mills head basketball coach Jamal Anene is embracing a new chapter for the Foxes as a young roster prepares to take on bigger responsibilities this season. After losing nine seniors from last year’s team, Anene is turning to a sophomore-heavy core, supported by a few juniors and seniors, to help establish the next era of Caddo Mills basketball. “We’re a young group trying to rebuild from last year’s group. We lost nine seniors.” For Anene, the fall has been about giving his younger players valuable experience, allowing them to grow into their roles and preparing them for the challenges of varsity basketball. With a fresh group stepping forward, the Foxes are focused on gaining experience, developing together and establishing a foundation they can build on throughout the season.

Caddo Mills High School head basketball coach Jamal Anene is looking beyond the upcoming season as he works to build a program with a promising future. With a young roster featuring plenty of developing talent, Anene sees an opportunity to establish a foundation that can grow stronger over the next several years. Rather than focusing solely on immediate results, he’s excited about what this group can become with experience and continued development. “You look at, you know, really trying to build something for the long run.” That excitement extends beyond the varsity level. Anene believes the talent coming through Caddo Mills’ eighth-grade and middle school programs could play an important role in shaping the Foxes’ future. For Anene, the opportunity to develop multiple classes of players and build something sustainable is what makes this chapter of Caddo Mills basketball so exciting.
