Today we celebrate the birth of a little girl who would be called to become the Mother of her Creator, the Mother of God. Yet, she is born simply as a little girl, like the daughters and granddaughters we hold in our arms. We bestow upon her the most exalted and noble titles, such as Our Lady and Queen, but God’s way was and remains simpler and quieter, yet no less powerful and transformative. It is the way of Jesus Himself. #NativityOfMary

I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all Americans on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This anniversary stands as an invitation not only to celebrate the nation’s remarkable journey, but also to reflect upon the responsibilities that the sons and daughters of this country bear to one another, and to the generations who will inherit the nation that is being shaped today. vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/e…

Yesterday, we announced charges against two individuals for vandalizing Fern Creek Park, including the space Miracle League of Louisville calls home. It’s a shame someone chose to damage such a special place. The Miracle League is about making sports accessible and fun for everyone, and every time Rachel and I attend a game, we leave inspired, by the athletes and by how much these games mean to our community. We will not tolerate behavior that compromises our shared public spaces. Thanks to our new Park Ranger program, we have more resources to respond quickly and keep our parks safe and enjoyable. I’m grateful for the swift action of Chief Park Ranger James Brown and the @loukyparks Southeast Maintenance team, who immediately got to work cleaning up graffiti and preparing the field for athletes to play this weekend. Park rangers are seeking information to help identify a third suspect. If you can help, please call the @LMPD tip line at 574-LMPD. If you’ve never visited Miracle League of Louisville, now is a great time to show your support. Stop by tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. or 4:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome!

📰Mayor's City Scoop: I’m grateful to the Kentucky General Assembly for once again making a significant investment in the future of Louisville and Kentucky. These investments will deliver real results for the people of our city and state by supporting social service organizations, building more affordable housing, expanding early learning, improving public safety, creating jobs, attracting more non-stop flights, strengthening our performing arts organizations, expanding our zoo, improving our road infrastructure and so much more. ✍️ @courierjournal @bkillian72 courier-journal.com/story/ne…

Here in Philadelphia. Truly appalling. These assholes chanting for the death of our servicemembers. Where’s the Dem outrage and condemnation?

Big news for Louisville. A new report from the Chaddick Institute for Metropolitan Development says UPS’s Worldport at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport now handles more express cargo flights than FedEx’s Memphis hub making it the largest in the world. That means more packages moving through our city than anywhere else. Louisville is leading global logistics.
