📍 Groundwork Ohio Roadshow 2026: Cuyahoga County! On October 21, we were in Cleveland for a community roundtable alongside our co-hosts, @FirstYearCLE and @COHHIO. Our conversation focused on housing affordability and availability and the connections to maternal health, infant health, and mental health. We heard from local leaders, advocates, and community members about the challenges facing families with young children and opportunities to better support them. In the afternoon, we visited Parma Preschool to learn more about its early childhood programs and how they support young children and families in the community. A special thank you to Senate Minority Leader @nickieantonio (D-Lakewood) and Brad from U.S. Rep. @RepShontelBrown's (D-OH-11) office for joining us, and to all our participants and Parma Preschool for welcoming us! What we heard in Cuyahoga County will help inform our statewide Roadshow report and future policy recommendations for Ohio’s youngest children and families. 🔗 Learn more about Roadshow 2026: groundworkohio.org/roadshow #GroundworkOhioRoadshow2026 #CuyahogaCounty #EarlyChildhood #EveryStopEveryStory

Can you still afford to live in Ohio? If you don't earn at least $22.51/hr you're probably spending more than you can afford on rent. The gap between renters’ average income and the cost of rent in Ohio has increased 148% since 2020! #OOR25 wp.me/p7Sx2I-dL3

Ohio renters need to earn at least $22.51/hr just to afford a modest 2BR apartment. Rents are rising faster than renters’ income. For ex. wages for home health aides increased $3.34 while the 2-BR Housing Wage rose $6.52 during the past five years. #OOR25 wp.me/p7Sx2I-dL3

Full-time workers need to earn at least $22.51/hour just to afford a modest 2BR apartment in Ohio. BUT... only 4 out of the 15 most common jobs pay that much. In other words, 21% of all the jobs in Ohio don’t pay enough to afford a modest home. #OOR25

It's great to see this small but mighty Ohio program featured in a new @invisiblepeople film showing how it helps people stay out of prison and homelessness! This program should be expanded, not just because it's humane; it's cheaper than housing people in prison.
