who reminded the meeting that regional integration & peace are mutually reinforcing imperatives. Our ppl's aspirations 4 prosperity, dignity & improved livelihoods cannot be fully realised amid conflict, insecurity & instability
"Quite often, areas affected by conflict hv no factories producx guns or ammunitn...So, whose guns are blazx in Africa? Whose factories are producx the guns that are killx Africans? Who is fuellx these conflicts? Do our ppl deserve this? These are questions we must ask ourselves"
“One of the most significant dev'ts that requires our attention is the conflict involving the US & Iran & its wider regional implications. Our region may not be a direct party to this conflict, but our economies are not insulated from its consequences.” ~H.E @ChilesheKCOMESA
“While we continue to address existing conflicts, we must also recognise that the security environment is changing rapidly. Today, peace and security cannot be viewed solely through the traditional lens of armed conflict.”~H.E @ChilesheKCOMESA COMESA SG
"We are Africa, & as Africans, we should resist being drawn into geopolitical rivalries. We hv a continent to manage. We hv people to feed, protect ... We should neither look East/West; we must look to ourselves & help ourselves."~ Prof. dr. AMON M.,🇿🇼Min of Foreign & Int. Trade
