We're excited to launch our Alternative Provision toolkit! 🙌
This toolkit positions PE and sport not just as physical activities, but as powerful tools to support mental health, social skills, and a sense of belonging for pupils in Alternative Provision (AP).
It supports Active Partnerships and School Games Organisers to think differently, act with empathy, and collaborate closely with staff and pupils to create offers that meet the needs of each unique setting. ❤️
The toolkit provides:
✅ A six-step framework to build meaningful, inclusive, and sustainable relationships with AP settings
✅ Practical advice and real-life insight from young people and educators
✅ Data, research links and helpful resources.
Designed to be flexible and accessible, the toolkit helps you start small, learn together, and grow your reach - ensuring more young people in AP benefit from the positive impact of physical activity.

We’re deep into what’s shaping up to be a brilliant summer and autumn for women’s sport 🌟
Last night, the Lionesses booked their place in the Euros final 🦁⚽
And the Women’s Rugby World Cup kicks off in August 🏉🔥
YST works to make sure every young person, especially those facing barriers, can access the life-changing power of sport and play.
Sport has shaped my life. I want the next generation to have the same chance.
If you’ve been inspired by this summer of sport and want to help make a difference, I’d love your support:

Let’s make sure this summer means something long after the final whistle blows. 💪🌍🏉🏊♀️

As part of the Youth Sport Trust’s wider Youth Leadership work, we’re excited to offer two exciting leadership roles direct with us for young people to consider:
✅ YST Youth Board Member (please note you must be between 16-25 at the time of applying to be eligible for this role)
✅ YST Team Leader (please note you must be 18 or over at the time of applying to be eligible for this role)
If you're interested in both roles, you only need to complete one application. We suggest choosing the role you’re most interested in to start with, and there’ll be an option to tick a box if you’d like to be considered for both. If you do this, you’ll only need to attend one interview, and we’ll assess your application for both positions through the same process. Please note that even if you apply for both roles, you will only be appointed to one. Of course, you are very welcome to apply for just one role.
Closing date: 11:59pm on 31 August 2025
Interview date: Week commencing Monday 8th September 2025
If you have any further questions relating to either role, please email:
Team Leader role: email [email protected]
Youth Board role: email [email protected]

The My Personal Best is an innovation project for young people attending Alternative Provision (AP) and Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) settings. 🙌
The project is funded through the Department for Education Inclusion 2024-25 grant to develop and support AP and PRUs in developing life skills in their young people. It builds upon the success of the 2020/21 pilot with 6 PRUs, and the past three years of Inclusion 2024, where 30 further PRUs engaged with the project.
Don't miss out, applications are now open! The deadline for expressions of interest is 22 June 2025. 📆
