If @cantaskforce guidelines were based on research and not a faulty study, my #breastcancer might have been caught before it spread. Asking @JasonCoppingAB to please give screening access to anyone age 40+ and help save lives (and health care costs)! #CancerScreening #abhealth

Last week, the UCP proposed banning EDI in post-secondary institutions. This week, they decided to make it legal to punish you for pointing it out.

$70 MILLION BUCKS - A SOLE-SOURCED CONTRACT AND QUESTIONS THE UCP STILL WON'T ANSWER. Seven weeks after taking office, the UCP government directed AHS to sign a $70-million Tylenol deal involving MHCare, with millions paid up front. Now we have serious questions about a competing proposal that may have offered faster delivery, at a lower cost, and without MHCare's $10-million administration fee. Who made the decision to tank that proposal, and why? Meanwhile, court documents confirm an ongoing RCMP criminal investigation into procurement practices at Alberta Health and AHS, involving the offences of fraud, breach of trust and money laundering. Today, I pressed the government for answers. Why does MHCare remain an active bidder on government contracts? What was the involvement of the Premier's office in hiring relatives of MHCare's principal to work in government ministries? And has MHCare or any of its affiliates received further government contracts? Unfortunately, today wasn't Disclosure Day but I feel its coming. #abpoli #ableg #abtory #ucp #rcmp #accountability Watch the exchange.

Once the UCP in Alberta gerrymanders a district like this, there’s no going back. The precedent is set and the cycle begins. Democracy in the province will rot even faster than it’s rotting now. Draw the battle lines and dig in for a fight, because this one matters.

Can someone explain to me why someone in Lethbridge should be voting for the same MLA as the one who represents just south of Strathmore, or Waterton, or High River, or Bow Island? If you can't explain it without using partisan reasons, that's exactly why they shouldn't #ableg

The UCP will want you to focus on the specific lines on the map. Keep in mind: the entire process is gerrymandering. And when it comes to defining what's "effective representation," they didn't even bother engaging the people being represented.

The UCP drew a map. They couldn't get it past an independent boundaries commission, who recommended a different one after public input. The UCP tore up that map and is imposing their own, without public consultation. They want you to believe this is normal. It's not.

As the UCP prepares to upend a half-century streak of undoctored electoral maps in Alberta, it's important to understand: ⚪ what gerrymandering is, ⚪ why it is remarkable, and ⚪ what we can do about it. Link in comments.

I like the idea of multiple political parties. These so-called big tent parties are a terrible invention. Power should be negotiated at all times among parties that represent different things, and not concentrated in one big one that lacks unity or purpose.

calgaryherald.com/opinion/le… A better idea: providing resources so that discharges can happen outside of M-F 9-5pm. It takes skilled human beings - OT/PT/Nurses - to get a pt ready for discharge. Pt ready for discharge at 7pm on Friday = hold until Monday @ 10am = meet target!

The same guy who was caught fixing the price of bread for years now claims that the big grocers have no control over prices. Give me a break. Canadians aren’t stupid. We see Galen getting richer and richer as grocery costs skyrocket. We know we’re being ripped off. It’s time to break up the Big Grocery Cartel and drive down costs with a national network of public grocery stores that Canadians can actually afford to shop at.

We need biomarkers to predict efficacy. Until we know who will respond and who won’t, who will have worse side effects, who might need a different dose, we have not achieved the degree of precision medicine we deserve.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have a biomarker that could help identify patients most likely to benefit from T-DXd? Earlier this year, we published a pilot study in npj Precision Oncology exploring quantitative HER2 testing to predict T-DXd, with promising results: nature.com/articles/s41698-0… Excited to present the validation of the High-Sensitivity (HS)-HER2 findings at #SABCS26, during Rapid Fire Oral Session 3! One step closer to understanding which patients are most likely to benefit from T-DXd. sabcs.org/events/2026/rapid-…

The discharge by 11am policy is absurdly simplistic. Focusing on throughput over quality w/o consulting patients or care professionals - so unwise. But unwise is pretty much the #UCP brand.
Opinion: Mandated patient discharge by 11 a.m. will cause more harm than good calgaryherald.com/opinion/le…
