Advice from recent high school grads to K-12 CS teachers:
▶️ Always be patient. Encouragement makes a huge difference in persistence.
▶️ Keep going. Your job is so hard, often thankless but so important. We need you.

We need to do better with accessibility in K-12 CS education. At #CSTA2024, @AndreasStefik of @unlv shares suggestions to make CS more accessible to students with disabilities:
1️⃣ Ed: only use accessible tech
2️⃣ @NSF: consider accessibility in grant reviews
3️⃣ tech: do better

ALT Four common myths about accessibility: 1- impact is broad, 2- rationalizing lack of accessibility, 3- generalizing from 1 student, 4- need for more than self-advocacy
