Prices are rising faster than wages.

ALT Line chart titled "Real wages (adjusted for inflation) are falling" showing percent change over the year in average hourly earnings for all private employees in 1982-1984 dollars. Real wages declined 0.18 percent in July 2026, a sharp reversal from consistent positive growth throughout 2024 and most of 2025. After peaking at 1.80 percent growth in March 2025, real wages turned negative in April 2026 and fell to negative 0.80 percent in May before partially recovering. This marks the first sustained period of declining purchasing power for workers since mid-2024, as wage gains have failed to keep pace with inflation.
CSU workers deserve better than crumbs. Support staff are key to student success and if management wants to see how campuses run without workers - we're ready to show them. #StrikeReadySummer

WOW! Protesters created a HUGE human sign on San Francisco’s Ocean Beach reading “No Kings YES on 50” to support California’s Prop 50 and stand up against Donald Trump’s fascist regime
CSUEU members turned out across the Golden State for #NoKings to say : we want our government to fund families and communities, not billionaires and authoritarian crackdowns. HigherEd workers fight fascism ✊🏽
CA Budget Act 2025 is clear: Full funding for the CSU so that it can fulfill its mission to students and commitments to staff. We greatly appreciate Legislators @AsmMikeGipson @AsmMuratsuchi for leading the call for the CSU to Keep Your Promise.
Teamsters Local 2010, the California Faculty Association (CFA), the California State University Employees Union (CSUEU), and other unions that collectively represent 80,000 workers at California State University (CSU) held a press conference and rallied to expose the university’s plans to break its contractual promises to union workers.
Despite receiving full funding in the 2025 state budget, CSU management has notified the labor unions representing university workers that they will not be able to provide the salary step increases and cost-of-living adjustments agreed upon in their respective collective bargaining agreements. Local 2010, CFA, and CSUEU have all filed unfair labor practice (ULP) charges against CSU for anti-worker actions and violating collective bargaining agreements.
CSUEU LA ready for action ✊🏽

Like the Freedom Riders before us, workers of all races & places bussed across the US to Louisiana's detention alley-epicenter for immigrant detention. Meanwhile, workers were out at Home Depots sharing know your rights information with all. Workers will NOT be divided! #SolidaritySummer
