20 years teaching high school.
I’m quitting as soon as I can afford to do so, & I’m pulling my daughter out to homeschool.
People keep posting that the grid is going down or the next cyber attack is days away. I’ve spent two decades watching systems fail in slow motion inside public schools. The slow failure is the one I actually live with.
I’m not waiting for the dramatic version.

I’ve played bass on every album Mötley Crüe has ever recorded and written the lion’s share of our music over the years. When Mick made statements about the band that we believe were untrue, in an attempt to gain leverage in a lawsuit he ultimately lost, it created a lot of confusion and fueled some negative perceptions of the band.
The saddest part is that we genuinely loved Mick. During his struggles with addiction, I personally did everything I could to help him and, at times, save his life. We shared decades of music, memories, and brotherhood. That history means something to us.
What hurts the most isn’t the lawsuit or the headlines. It’s the feeling that someone we considered a brother turned his back on us and, in the process, misled the fans who supported all of us for so many years.

One of the deep sadnesses we have with the current world is that many are living life on subscription and credit. Rent/Mortgage, Leased cars, Payment plans, their entire lives are partitioned into monthly payments they have to meet or everything is taken away. There is no ownership left. Many software services are locked to the cloud, you can't own them anymore. Hardware is priced so high it must be leased. This is terrifying and sad. It means in any single moment you can be dehumaned. You are a renter, borrowing your life, nothing to pass on, and when you die, it ends with you. Eventually you will borrow your body as well, bookmark this. And then once even your physical life is reliant on subscription, conditions may be created that will one day make you specifically unable to pay, and then it is over. This is not science fiction, this is extrapolated reality. You are not a slave. Love yourself.

So now, I ask, WHY is "alarm" rewarded by the algorithm?

Sorry everyone, but this is just not true. I know it’s tempting to believe, and it is true that the school will hide things from you about your kids, but cell phones in school are just a giant distraction and make it almost impossible to teach. That is the real reason for the cell phone ban.
When I worked at a Title 1 public school we begged them to get rid of cellphones, made learning impossible
They refused until cellphones were used to capture multiple prison-riot style fights and sex acts in the bathroom that ended up on the news
Schools aren’t banning cellphones because of education, they don’t care
They’re banning them because they’re revealing that public schools are prisons and abuse factories
