Andoni Iraola’s Tricky Reds
35.6% - Liverpool’s possession today of 35.6% was their second lowest on record (since 2003-04) in a Premier League home win, and lowest in an Anfield league victory since November 2010 (35.3% vs Chelsea). Adaptable.

Smith/Puello nip & tuck, 115-113 either way would’ve been fine, 116-112 Puello a slightly expansive scorecard for me.

Movsar super classy in defeat, and gave a perfect description of Volk: “He’s like good wine. Older, stronger, better”

Nobody has ever been better at MMA at 38 Years Of Age than Alex Volkanovski.

Too fucking easy. Volk absolutely different class.

“When you’re an elite wrestler your striking is better” As we’re watching a second title fight in a row where the “elite wrestler” looks like shit on the feet because they’re over reliant on their takedown attempts to establish threat.

Round 1 Volk. Needs to be weary of Evloev punching off the grip fight though.

The next time a UFC commentator explains why a fighter’s footwork is good instead of just stating that their footwork is good will be the first time

Merab threw a heavy leg kick into a check in the first round and every low kick that followed was noncommittal, he also threw a heavy overhand right that got caught on the point of his elbow & he didn’t want to throw it out there anymore. Even Yan’s defence hurts.

It was all Yan could do not to burst out laughing as he just picked off every shot from Merab with total ease in those last 2 rounds. I don’t know that there’s ever been a better example in this sport of one fighter completely having their opponent’s number.

Round 3 was a clear Yan round, this commentary team trying to act like it was some sort of swing round is them saving face for the disgraceful announcing job they just did. If you scored that round for Merab you have no business being professionally employed to cover MMA.

4-1 Yan, 3-2 at worst. One of the great displays of defensive wrestling in the history of MMA. He’s just the better fighter, plain and simple.

Yan dropping to his knees and dumping Merab over his back as he pursued there was a thing of beauty

Merab’s getting busted up and DC & Felder are still creaming themselves over failed shot attempts

2-1 Yan. This commentary team still scoring like we’re in 2016.

Merab’s more tired than Yan and this commentary team are the only people in the building who don’t know it, fucking idiots

The lack of body kicks as Merab circles is criminal from Yan here

Doesn’t make sense for him to not kick because he’s perfectly comfortable hopping and limp legging out of shot attempts

Commentary can hype the takedowns (every single one reversed) but round 2 was a Yan round if you’re scoring on damage, Merab winging at fresh air and kicking into checks.
