Y sigo.

Tonight’s outcome isn’t about placing faith in Democrats or socialist principles; it’s about holding Republicans accountable for betraying their promises.
All Republicans had to do was:
1. put Americans First
2. not start another war
3. prosecute sex traffickers

This is so good. Worth reading. George Lucas compared Anakin to Faust, making a deal with the devil that ultimately fails.
“Anakin wants to have a family. He wants to be married to Padmé and have children. When he sees in his dreams that Padmé is going to die, he doesn't know how, but it's preordained.
He's in love with her. He doesn't want her to die. He wants to possess her, to control that. He keeps getting himself deeper and deeper into this pickle.
He wants a family but at the same time he knows he can't have one. Now the greed has taken over and the fear of losing his wife and baby. The whole point is you can't possess somebody because they are their own person. You can't dominate and make them do everything you want them to do...
…Right. He's walking into a death trap. And there’s no way out...
…And also saying that ‘My mentor told me that there was a way that could stop death.'’ Which was a lie. They can't. Anakin got sold a bill of goods because he wanted it so bad that if anybody would sell him anything, he'd believe it...
It's a scam. Anakin’s made a pact with the Devil: ‘I want the power to save somebody from death. I want to be able to stop them from going to the river Styx, and I need to go to a god for that, but the gods won't do it, so I'm going to go down to Hades and get the dark lord to allow me to have this power that will allow me to save the person I want to hang on to.’
Ultimately, it's about power. He traded his soul for power. It's Faust.
The more power he wants, the more power he gets, the more he loses. The Devil says, ‘You can become more powerful but you must pass this first test. The first test is you must kill your mother. The second test: you have to kill your wife. And the third test: you have to kill your best friend.’
In the end you have all this power but you have nobody to share with, except some wizened old man who’s even more evil than you are.
If you’re going to sell your soul to save somebody you love, that’s, as we say in the film, unnatural. You have to accept the natural course of life. Death is obviously the biggest of them all. Not only death for yourself but death for the things you care about.”

Netanyahu wants the US to be the one that drops the nuke, even though Israel has their own illegal stash.
Because Bibi correctly identifies that if Israel does it then Jews will adopt a stigma far worse than well poisoning. And rightly so.
Thus he tries to get his puppet to do it for him.

If you want young men to be Aragorn, old people have to start being Elrond and women have to start being Arwen.
Don’t empathize with Anakin.
Identify with Aragorn.
He’s the ultimate anti-doomer.
When all seemed lost, Aragorn still acted out of principle & not self-interest.
He didn’t change his actions based on feelings or probabilities.
He didn’t harbor vengeance.
He had a duty, and he risked life and love to fulfill it (saving both in the process).

After this election, even before they’re sworn-in, newly minted politicians will go behind closed doors in the swamp to pick the majority leader, minority leader, whips, etc., and to nominate a Speaker.
They’ll vote for candidates who promise campaign cash, good times, good committee assignments, and subcommittee gavels. When it’s all said and done, your Representatives will also pledge their congressional voting cards to the leaders of RED team and BLUE team, who are secretly playing on the same team.
That’s how your election will get stolen. I compare these Representatives to Jack who traded the family cow for magic beans… but in this version of the story, the beans never sprout and lobbyists eat the beef.

I get the preference for Aragorn. He is a strong fictional model: principle over mood, duty over self-interest, and he risks life and love without becoming their slave.
But the identification with Anakin is tracking a different pattern. Aragorn knew he was the heir, was trained for it, excelled, and lived as an outsider by choice until the moment to claim the throne. He was not told he was essential and then kept at arm’s length. He was not required to renounce ordinary goods on the theory that keeping them would make him the threat.
Anakin is declared the Chosen One from the start, pushed hard, and treated as indispensable to the plan. He is then repeatedly told he is not ready, not trusted with full status or full information, and that attachment itself will lead to catastrophe. The order that needs his power also withholds the ordinary trust and recognition that would make the sacrifice voluntary rather than coerced. That sequence is what many young men are mapping onto their own experience of high expectations, institutional skepticism, and demands that they forgo future and family so that others can be secure. Aragorn never lived that particular contradiction.
Anakin is closer to the child in “The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas”: the one whose private cost is treated as the price of everyone else’s moral order. Aragorn is the figure who can take the throne without needing that arrangement to continue.
Yes, young men would do well to emulate Aragorn. But they feel empathy with Anakin because Aragorn is the beautiful ideal and Anakin is the experience they have had. It is the job of older men to stop the shame-scolding and give the young men a real opportunity to become the Aragorn.
