Dr. Phil warns that America’s opioid crisis didn’t just come from street drugs. Prescription painkillers have also played a major role. He explains how dependence on prescription opioids can lead some people down a path toward heroin addiction. “Your body doesn’t know whether you got that in the back alley or you got it from a doctor. It still has the same addictive quality.” A disturbing look at how addiction can begin with a prescription.

Could one god understand every foreign voice? 📜 🌍 A hymn in Horemheb’s tomb at Saqqara praises Thoth as the god “who distinguishes the tongue of every foreign country.” It is a remarkable quality to place beside wisdom and writing. Horemheb asks to stand firmly beside the sovereign as Thoth stands beside the lord of the universe. Understanding speech belongs within that relationship of counsel and trust. The hymn opens a door onto a world of different languages, where divine understanding could reach across the boundaries that made communication difficult for people. For Thoth, another language need not mean an unheard voice. If a god understood both sides of a conversation perfectly, what might he hear that neither speaker realised they were saying? 🤔 Image: Thoth in baboon form, original painted relief, Temple of Ramesses II, Abydos. Felt good to get back in the field after being parked more than we were moving for the last 2 plus weeks. Ground is firm, grain picked up some moisture, stalks are like rope. Not bad for November.

For all you liberals out there that think Elon is getting rich off of Government contracts, you need to examine your source for that information, because they are straight up lying to you. In case you're interested in facts, here's the truth: tiktok.com/t/ZPLVwcn6L/

Calley Means: "I spent every day with Bobby Kennedy, who is my hero. I left with more respect for him than ever. Full integrity, never seen him do anything that wasn't in the best interests for the American people... but he is surrounded by demons that want him out and want him destroyed." And that's really the problem isn't it? When you know what to do, or should do, but there's a certain group of people who keep your hands tied. I think that's why Tulsi Gabbard and Dan Bongino, left as well.

Would this gold earring look out of place in a jewellery shop today? It was made in Egypt around 1540–1440 BCE, during the early Eighteenth Dynasty. The design is wonderfully direct: an open hoop, only 2.4 centimetres across, with parallel ribs catching the light. The museum calls it “penannular”, meaning that the circle has a gap. Its appeal comes from that simple curve and the rhythm of the raised lines. Looking at those ridges, it is easy to see why a simple design can keep its appeal across thousands of years. Would you wear this ancient style, or would you choose something more elaborate? Photo: Cleveland Museum of Art; Gift of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Wade, 1916.129. Inside the Internet’s Biggest Lego Scandal Reckless Ben breaks down his Bricks and Minifigs investigation, a bizarre LEGO theft dispute involving a family’s valuable Star Wars LEGO collection, ten lawsuits, and a plan to take on an entire corporation. “These Legos are ours. If you want, you can sue us.” Ben recounts the response the family allegedly received when trying to recover their collection. He explains how he challenged the store through small claims lawsuits and a state-approved lottery, then helped franchise owners switch their stores to Reckless Bricks. “We’re trying to take over the whole corporation.” What started as a video costing less than $2,000 became a battle Ben says has already cost him roughly $250,000 in legal fees.

Can a queen command a room without looking at us? 👑🐍 Poynter’s Cleopatra sits in profile, absorbed in her own thoughts. The English painter trained in London and Paris, later leading the National Gallery and Royal Academy. Here he explores a private mood. The warm yellow cloth, dark hair, and carved wall create a restrained Egyptian setting around the familiar asp legend. I like how little movement he needs: a lowered gaze and a quiet pair of hands carry the tension. Her self-contained presence is what stays with me. Which feels more regal to you: a commanding gesture, or this kind of inward composure? 🤔 Credit: Edward John Poynter, Cleopatra and the Asp (undated), Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum, BORGM 01751. This really works. It is a soothing experience
If you’re struggling with anxiety, listen to this piece of music. Within about 30 seconds, your breathing may begin to change. What soothes the body is the silence between the notes. 🎶
