The presence of Bombardier in Wichita supports a local workforce of more than a thousand employees, who contribute their talent and expertise to our nation’s defense and aerospace capabilities. This afternoon, I reached out to the Trump administration to make certain the President is aware of the significant contributions of Bombardier to Kansas and the importance of its presence in Wichita to many Kansas workers at Bombardier and in the Bombardier supply chain. I will continue working to see that Bombardier’s manufacturing operations not only remain in Kansas but continue to grow and create American jobs. Kansas is home to a hardworking, skilled workforce, and I will continue welcoming leaders in aircraft and defense manufacturing to do business here in the Air Capital of the World.

.@Bombardier, like every private jet manufacturer, is an *assembler* They assemble jets in Canada using parts heavily sourced from the US Of these parts, the engines are by far the most expensive …Bombardier’s two best sellers have US engines Challenger 3500 = Honeywell Global 8000 = GE

Well, Trump is going after Bombardier again. He says that they’re not made in the United States, but ironically, the wings of the Global 8000 are. Should be an interesting week. Gulfstream clearly has someone in his ear.

The calmest person in the room usually wins the negotiation. Twenty years of emergency response is a strange but effective way to train for that.

Officials with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are reviewing an air-traffic safety incident Tuesday over Washington, involving Marine One while it was transporting President Donald J. Trump from the White House to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. According to people familiar with the matter who spoke to The Washington Post, on Tuesday afternoon, Marine One, a military helicopter used to transport the President, took off from the White House, but air-traffic controllers hadn’t yet halted commercial flights at nearby Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport as required under safety protocols, in place since the deadly midair collision over the Potomac on January 29, 2025. During the incident, Marine One and a commercial jet taking off from Ronald Reagan didn’t appear to get dangerously close under federal rules and weren’t converging, indicating the incident didn’t amount to a serious close call, according to a Spokesperson with the FAA. “Marine One flights are piloted by some of the best aviators in the world, and at no point was the President in harm’s way,” said White House Spokesman Kush Desai.
