Late to @CallMeSipo, but what a line to have dug up: “it’s in the giving of lit prizes that the cult of the middlebrow seems now to have established itself”! I can see it both ways: the NP must be tons of work,+all 3 pubs have to agree!meanjin.com.au/books/how-nov…

In today's back-from-hiatus essay @CallMeSipo reflects on the posthumous legacy of Vivian Maier and on the possibility of making her work "available to everyone, away from the necromantic urges of capital accumulation at the expense of a dead artist." overland.org.au/2024/11/art-…

John Dewar is the most destructive VC in recent history. An architect of the disastrous Melbourne Model, the grim reaper of LTU and now laying waste to UoW. No doubt he'll get his million dollar paycheck and move on to more hapless victims in the tertiary education sector.

No crisis in unis is greater than the exploitation of casuals. The relentlessness of wagetheft and extraction of labour from precarious workers is matched only by uni managers' monstrous pay packets and their breathtaking, shameless progressive posturing. theguardian.com/australia-ne…
