I’m tired, but the philomath in me can’t sleep. I’m currently alternating between Sam Mathe’s book and this other soft copy book on the Reserve Bank titled; Inside the South African Reserve Bank: Its Origins and Secrets Exposed by Stephen Mitford Goodson.Sad to discover he passed.

I’m so flabbergasted, South Africa will never know economic prosperity and independence.

When you picture a nations central bank, the place that controls the money supply, its interest rates, basically steers the whole economic ship, who do you think owns it? The government right🤔it just has to be, well for most places but SA is a different ball game.

Oksalayo Mayibuye Civic Movement operated on an almost zero budget. For the people of NMB. Also had to contend with the people confusing it with Floyds Mayibuye. I’m not ashamed.
I see the Mayibuye Civic Movement of @YolzYako got 11k votes (1,95%) in NMB metro. Yah neh!

The fact that townships, an apartheid construct, still exist after 30+ years, is shameful. The current political elite aren’t capable of making meaningful changes to apartheid spatial boundaries, I’m telling you.

Prince Mashele's prediction leaves a shock wave across social media. The political analyst was on the Sunday World podcast, hosted by JJ Tabane. On the Local Government Elections subject, he predicted that the ANC would see a decline and that the DA would enjoy marginal growth. He further stated that he was prepared to eat his socks if his prediction was off the mark. Read full Electoral coverage on SundayWorld.co.za

State craft guys. Vote for people with statecraft to resurrect CoJ. We can’t do this again. Statecraft is not a mere administration. It is leadership.A professional and moral vocation that aligns long term vision, institutional design…

Municipality coalitions would likely be stable if the party with the most votes are automatically given first option to lead, rather than being excluded.

My only worry about this proposed municipal structures amendment bill/coalitions bill is that it has a potential to shield mayoral candidates from motions of no confidence. Imagine finishing a terms with someone like the former mayor uGwamanda. Hayi!

Like, there is a limitation structured around restricting the frequency of motions of no confidence around a certain period (like up to a 2-year cooling-off/grace period) from the date of the last motion or election. Imagine that time umntu umosha ngoku.😂

Radio callers and collapse of logic😅🙃, like there’s no one who got an outright majority, so you have to negotiate in order to reach your 50+1 to govern a city. That’s why it’s called a coalition government. DA voters are delusional in that Joburg place. Too excitable!
