Yes
Having kids was like a nuclear bomb going off for my career progression and I don't really care in the slightest

Guy is obviously not great with money but spending $48k/mo after making 200mm in career doesn't seem.......bad?

Look at the world around you. I will publish my in depth thoughts on this soon.
Why electrical? Honest question.

You need to be explicitly stating what you do and how you do it. We produce social media content. We crush on LinkedIn, we can also come to you and shoot video for all other platforms. We do this using a high volume/high quality approach - more is better. This way, you test a lot of content and develop your own strategy rather than trying to "plug in" to a template. You end up with a body of work AND an associated dataset instead of a bunch of ghostwriter "content" that hurts your reputation. We do this for highly regulated or hyper technical industries like manufacturing, fintech, SaaS, "old media", pharma, and more. There. I stated what I do. You should go do this right now.

I started selling "done for you social media content" before AI was good at anything at all. 10x'd my personal income, hired a few people, got hundreds of millions of views for clients and shipped 10,000+ posts. Thoughts on media landscape: - AI is increasing demand for skilled content/media, not replacing it - Copywriting will never die - The highest leverage marketing activity is sitting in a quiet room and brainstorming - Being able to create a marketing hypothesis and execute on it is still WAY undervalued - Video content will never die - Capturing footage is easy. Knowing what to capture is hard - Reputation management as a service is still underpriced - You are probably not publishing enough If you think about social content in terms of supply and demand, there are still FAR more consumers than creators and AI won't change that as much as you may expect.

The absolute best clients at our content agency are deeply interested in world building, whether they realize it or not. They don't want a Slop Cannon. They don't want booked calls. They don't want a viral moment. They want to create and own a narrative. They want to be the top voice in their category. They want their real-world expertise on display across the (social) media landscape. The most profitable and influential brands and megacorps of all time focused on these pillars with ravenous obsession. A lot of them still call it...Brand. And it's still the biggest lever you can pull in business and influence. This is tough for a lot of traditional (revenue focused) marketers to grasp.
"World Building", a big agency term used endlessly in pitches by ECDs and heads of media departments for multi-billion dollar holdco advertising conglomerates, has trickled down to content creators. I think there will be a collision of sorts at Cannes Lions next summer. I'd almost bet on it.

I just charged Chris Orzechowski's card $68,000. He used to be a client. We helped him with his LinkedIn last year. Then I noticed he was posting unhinged comedy tweets and going viral. Winback opportunity spotted. So I opened Stripe. Found his card on file from the LinkedIn sprint. Spun up an invoice. Description: CONTENT STRATEGY ATTRIBUTION FEE — RETROACTIVE. Clicked charge. 30 seconds later he texted me: "Dude WHAT the fuck!?" I told him congrats on the new content system. “YOU MEAN THE TWEETS I WROTE?!” I told him cross-functional teams struggle with attribution. Bring it to the all hands Monday. He said he would “beat my ass bloody”. I said we didn’t do soft launches. He screamed there was “nothing soft about his spladle game”. I told him we’d spin up a post to build his authority in the wrestling space. He said I was literally just stealing his money. I said no. I was giving him 10% off for PIF. “WE WORKED TOGETHER 3 MONTHS, I BARELY KNOW YOU!” I said that's why we're locked into a new 12-month contract. "WHAT CONTRACT? YOU CHARGED MY CARD ILLEGALLY" I explained his Grokbot signed it. I forwarded the DocuSign. Signed: Grokbot (on behalf of Chris Orzo Chowski) Timestamp: 4:12 AM IP address: Omaha, Nebraska Witness: GabaGoolBot He asked how a bot in Omaha signed a contract for a guy in New Jersey. I told him that's what good distribution looks like. He said he’d filed a chargeback and called his lawyer. I told him that would void the testimonial clause. He said there was no testimonial clause. I updated the PDF. Clause 9: Client agrees Kyam invented being funny on X. Clause 10: Client agrees to pay $10k each for any future Sopranos memes. He started yelling again. I put him on speaker so my Head of Sales could hear. I don't have a Head of Sales. I hired one mid-call. She said “sir, this is a Jimmy John’s. That’ll be $17.32” I said we'd invoice Chris for it. Chris said he was calling his bank. I said great, loop in decision-makers. His bank picked up. I explained we were doing a routine attribution correction. The bank asked if Chris had authorized the $68,000. I said his Grokbot had. The bank asked what a Grokbot was. I said their newest preferred vendor. Chris screamed that he would “bury me for this”. He hung up. I logged into X to post revenue screenshots. Chris was online: "this guy charged my card and stole my fucking format" 356 likes. I screenshotted it. Attached it to a new invoice. Description: UGC LICENSE — CLIENT-GENERATED TESTIMONIAL. Amount: $12,000. Card on file? Charged. He texted again. "I WILL KILL YOU" I forwarded it to legal. Legal is the same Grokbot. They marked it as a renewal signal. Contract auto-extends another 12 months on threats. I sent Chris a Preferred Client gift basket. Inside: a printed copy of his best post, with my name in the byline. And a note: "Proud of what we built." He has not responded. His lawyer reached out. I marked him as a highly qualified referral.
Signed a $28,000/month email marketing retainer yesterday. We originally quoted $10,000. The prospect asked if we had any flexibility on price. I said of course. He asked if I could go lower. I told him no. But I could go higher. He laughed. I updated the PandaDoc to $12,000. He stopped laughing. "You just said ten." I explained that ten was the price before he opened negotiations. He asked what would happen if we removed SMS. I said sixteen. "Sixteen hundred?" "Thousand." He asked how removing work made it more expensive. I explained that customizing packages creates operational complexity. Our Head of Sales had begun slowly sliding his laptop out of frame. The prospect asked if we could send half as many campaigns. I said $22,000. He said I was being unreasonable. I told him reasonableness wasn't included in the scope. He asked if paying twelve months upfront would help. "Absolutely. Twenty-eight." He stared at me. "YOU KEEP MAKING IT MORE EXPENSIVE." I explained that our pricing was based on demand. He asked what demand. I said he'd requested five different proposals in fifteen minutes. Clearly demand was through the roof. Our Head of Sales unplugged the conference room router. I rejoined using my phone's hotspot. The prospect asked if there was any way to get back to $10,000. I explained that was our introductory rate. He asked when it expired. "Twelve minutes ago." Long silence. Finally, he said he'd sign at $28,000 if I threw in free onboarding. I told him I'd see what I could do. Our onboarding fee was $0. I added a $7,500 onboarding fee to the proposal. Then crossed it out. "COMPLIMENTARY ONBOARDING — YOU SAVE $7,500." He signed immediately. He actually thanked me for being flexible.

10 years ago I was making $135k/year traveling the country as a factory designer. I owned a townhouse and an old jeep. Then I entered a covenant with God. “Dear God, I will start a Christian engineering company” Then, the greatest adventure of my life began. Contracts, guerilla warfare engineering, 4 kids, dream beach house, bizarre private equity exit, HELOC on beach house, family surf shack in Central America, launching 4 new companies, recruiting world class leaders, paying distributions, executives on pay freeze, got our first patent, got 30 more patents, every industry award out there, national TV, new friends on 𝕏, learned standup paddle boarding, learned tennis, family mission trips, partnered with the largest industrial suppliers on earth, technology development in 5 industry verticals, got invited to write official US tariffs, 4 non-profit boards, got a Cybertruck, won USDOT driverless city grant, built a corporate HQ, deployed an ERP, obtained a 3 year PCOAB audit, wrote the national hygiene policy on covid, started buying majority of my clothes at Costco, entered litigation, won litigation, got customers I’ve never met, got employees I’ve never met, opened offices across multiple states, still work from my attic (it’s a nice attic), got a Herman miller chair, traveled the world, had 6 years with zero resignations, funded orphanages, funded hungry children, funded missionaries, funded homeless rescue, gotten shacked in 12’ waves, mastered the Komodo grill. All of it, in Jesus’ name. That’s the shortlist. Most of it is in my book. Walking with Jesus is not easy. Not if you’re living out the great commission. But I cannot imagine living life another way. I cannot imagine chasing another promotion to get to VP or C-suite of a company with another guy’s name on it. I cannot imagine coming home and telling my wife about the “mood” of my boss. I cannot imagine what my faith would be like, had it not been tested. God gave me abundance, and I acted biblically. God took it all away, and I acted biblically. And l’ve made mistakes. Big mistakes. And my team has stood by me. And with God’s help, we fixed it. Through the success, failure, and conflict, I’ve done my very best to be transparent and optimistic. To be a leader. To be pragmatic. To work harder than anyone else out there. To take Bible sized risk. Whatever your work is, bring Jesus into it. Live a life of integrity. Love your wife. Play with your kids. 🥢🙏❤️
If you’re a builder, build a biz and raise your capital from a bank. Can attest to Molson’s point. I’ve raised ~$10M of capital my entire life (65,000 lb vehicles don’t fund themselves). I find it’s easier to build a $10M business, get to $10M EBITDA, get to $10M free cash flow. Then, random people work your network to get on your calendar and beg to throw $20M at you. Magic. Then, use your building skills to figure out if you want OPM (other people’s money) and what you’d do with it. @jimbelosic is the poster boy for this. But, before you take anyone’s money, tell them exactly what you’ll do with it and what you won’t do. Words like “pro-rata rights” and “information rights” go right out the window. Bring it up once and you’re blocked from my outlook and iPhone. You want to invest in @ChangRobotics? You better be on board with slinging the Gospel while building the most advanced robotics systems on earth. You better be on board with employees and customers being regarded as more important than investors. You better be on board with promoting women through pregnancy. You better be on board with tithing 10% of free cash flow as the least we can do. You don’t have to be on board with prayer, but expect us to teach you. You better be on board with engineers leading a company and not a financially engineered company. You better be on board with data privacy. You better be onboard with going LOOOONG on CR and America 🇺🇸. Are YOU worried about your portfolio? WE are here to work as unto the Lord and glorify Jesus through building factories other countries could only dream about. We do that, and the portfolio will take care of itself. We are under covenant with God, you will be under covenant with us. You still want in? Okay, now you can have a 30 minute meeting. -your neighborhood engineer

God loves this, sorts out the tire kickers.
I can't tell you how many times i've spent weeks designing/orchestrating something only to hit an unsolveable roadblock/bottleneck that requires you to entirely redesign/fix something at a foundational level This is *how it is* More.

This is correct and you will have taken the final industrial blackpill when you realize that most of this also applies to the United States.

Based on this reply I bet $10000 cash he can't read a tape measure
😂 Hiring in construction for $30-$35 per hour in 2026. Apparently asking and making sure a 42 year old man knows what they’re doing is considered a hostile work environment now and it makes you a meanie. You can’t make this shit up.

Should you post on LinkedIn? First question - what is your ACV? If north of ~3k, I say yes. If north of ~10k, start blasting. 1. The platform is untapped for most business models 2. Most "conventional wisdom" about the platform is wrong 3. The actual growth playbook is straighforward, if not easy 4. The quality of potential connections is extremely high Pictured analytics are from a client who runs multiple businesses (SaaS, agency, even DTC). "Vanity metrics" look pretty good when they're funneling leads into your cash machines.

Told claude the launch closes at midnight and we’re 40 sales short Its advice? > Don’t mention the deadline, it creates pressure > Remind them it’s okay to say no > Thank them for their time either way Total AI alignment
