Bruno was working on the synthesis of Bi₂Fe₄O₉ for glycerol electro-oxidation and green H2 production. He spent a significant amount of time trying to obtain a high-purity material.
Being curious, Bruno noticed that the material changed over time during its use. More detailed studies, now published in this work, revealed that the Bi₂Fe₄O₉ electrode interacts with glycerol/glycerate, selectively dissolving elements present in secondary phases.
This observation paved the way for the development of a simple, cost-effective, and green purification method for Bi₂Fe₄O₉. You have 50 day to download our article for free in the link below: kwnsfk27.r.eu-west-1.awstrac… @EnergyCine
The latest paper from the Campinas Electrochemistry Group - PSF, "Mastering the Use of Nanoprobes Beamlines for Electrochemistry," is now published in @ACSElectrochemistry (@Patrick_Unwin)

In this work, we highlight: ✅ The importance of tracking radiation damage in nanoscale electrochemical studies. ✅ How spatial resolution can be both a blessing and a challenge. ✅ Practical strategies to ensure reliable and meaningful results.
We hope this tutorial serves as a useful guide for the community, helping researchers make the most of nanoprobe beamlines while avoiding common pitfalls.

Long story short:
-We got inspired by this nice paper by Markovic, @GroupGreeley and col: nature.com/articles/nchem.33…
- We got several microscopic insights by performing FTIR in situ in the ATR mode.
Happy to share the paper that concludes the Ph.D. work developed by Matheus Batista from Campinas Electrochemistry Group - PSF and Gabriela Volpini Soffiati (Miguel San-Miguel group), published in @ACSCatalysis.

For the oxidation of several organic molecules, it was observed that the modification of Pt with p-block adatoms can increase, have no effect on, or decrease the electrode activity. In this paper, we provided a very reasonable explanation for this phenomenon
and paved the way for the rational tuning of Pt surface activity. I hope you enjoy reading it!
Thank you, @EnergyCine and @unicampoficial.
Congratulations also to Victor Secco Lemos and Victor Yukuhiro!
Sharing our latest publication in ChemRxiv! This viewpoint highlights the importance of tracking radiation damage and exploring material heterogeneity, offering valuable insights and best practices for scientists working with Nanoprobe X-ray beams.
