Thank you @TXPSMedia for the mention and award! Played on a fractured and sprained ankle the last 3 playoff games and was just short of winning in State. Thankful to be an Eagle for the last 15 years! @SBS_Athletics

Canon Toon, you left your mark on TXPSFB! Congratulations on an amazing high school career! In this series of posts, we will recognize a select group of players who have made a significant impact not only for their respective teams, but also on the TXPSFB community as a whole. These are Texas private school athletes who have truly stood out throughout their entire high school school career. @CanonToon @SBS_Athletics @CoachBrydon

Canon Toon gets hit on every play as he’s slow to get up after every snap and the Eagles can’t do anything. Credit the heart of this kid, back to back drives this half where he’s gotten smacked and he’s always gotten back up. All Saints forces a punt but it’s an offsides call and another four down is up next. After another punt, All Saints gets to start their drive at their 35 yard line #txhsfb

EDRIC JASMINE. OVER THE TOP. TOUCHDOWN EAGLES. Canon Toon does a great job floating it over the top and finds the junior for the score. Eagles aren’t out of this just yet. 21-16 SBS | 9:43 4Q @CanonToon | @EdricJasmine | @SBS_Athletics #txhsfb

COACH SPEAK: Second Baptist School's Resurgence Leads Them Back to the State Stage It’s been a tale of two seasons for Second Baptist School. After starting the year 1–5, the Eagles regrouped, got healthy, and refocused. The biggest boost came with the return of quarterback Canon Toon. SBS has gone 3–0 in the postseason. Now, the Eagles are headed back to the TAPPS 5A State Championship, where they’ll face All Saints Episcopal of Fort Worth. VYPE’s Matt Malatesta caught up with head coach Beck Brydon to break down Second Baptist’s resurgence and what it will take to bring home the State Title this time around.
