Let’s see…did Rodgers cash his last paycheck? Why, yes he did. “Roger” that!
Idiot announcer saying Tennessee should take a TO when they don’t have one. #WorldWideLeader
Cock-tober?
2021 2-2
2022 2-1
2023 0-3
2024 1-2
2025 0-3
2026 1-1
Combined 6-12 record since 2021. Sounds made up.
3 for Auburn is within reach of the LSU WR on that TD catch-run and he slows down instead of diving for a tackle. Who is paying his NIL?
The rule in college football is to overturn a ruling it must be “clear & obvious video evidence”. And the replay ref must be “convinced beyond all doubt” to overturn.
“Clear & obvious” should take 30 seconds. It shouldn’t require studying it like a Calculus problem.
#1 🐂 💩
Cancel replay. Obvious INT by #Auburn. Rather than rewarding good play, the game gets delayed for five minutes, refs play CSI, and Auburn gets screwed.
This is sports. Not forensic science. It’s not meant to be perfect and replay doesn’t give perfection anyway.
It is #1 🐂 💩
Desmond: “a carpenter is only as good as his tools”.
Way to stiff arm a great expression, which is:
“A good carpenter doesn’t blame his tools”.
So…I’m at Kroger. They have a tent set up with the pharmacy on the sidewalk.
An employee walks up tells me “we’re collecting unused and out of date medications today”.
Me: but if I give them to you what will I hand out to kids on Halloween”.
She did NOT find that funny
Dolla, dolla bill y’all. “Roger” that!
The NFL launched an investment fund called 32 Equity back in 2013 with $1 million from each team owner.
Team owners have doubled down several times since, and 32 Equity has now raised more than $250 million.
The strategy is simple: the NFL invests in companies, helps them grow through NFL deals (think: data, licensing, sponsorships), and then benefits as a shareholder, profiting off both sides of the transaction.
In 2017, the NFL acquired a 3% stake in Fanatics at a $3.17 billion valuation. Fanatics works with the NFL on everything from merchandise and trading cards to hospitality and retail, and is now a $30 billion company.
Other investments include Hyperice, CLEAR, NOBULL, Skillz, Genius Sports, EverPass, and Appetize, with multiple companies producing nine-figure returns.
Now the NFL is doubling down again, announcing yesterday that it is partnering with private equity giant General Atlantic ($130B AUM) on a new investment fund.
By becoming a general partner in this fund, the NFL will get paid to manage other people's money (management fees and carry), and team owners won't have to share any of that money with players (because private equity investments aren't included in revenue sharing).
Today's newsletter breaks down the details.
