Cardano Governance Hour #12
Join @NicolasC3rny, Cardano Foundation Governance Lead, as he sits down with Steven Gaertner, CEO of @totofinance to discuss the Cardano Strategic Copper Reserve | ₳22M RWA Tokenization Treasury Withdrawal proposal.
📅 Tuesday, 27 October 2026
⏰ 16:30–17:00 UTC
🧵 Open thread for details
The proposal plans to hold the copper for 18–24 months before liquidation, with net sale proceeds and unused or unearned funds due back to the Treasury by month 36.
But returning the proceeds does not guarantee recovery of the original ₳22 million. Copper prices, ADA/USD movements, operating costs, custody arrangements, and bridge security all affect the financial risk.
We'll explore what safeguards, milestones, and measurable outcomes are needed to determine whether the proposal offers sufficient accountability and lasting value for Cardano.

I first built this as a visualisation for myself, but I think more people will enjoy it: our beautiful Cardano ecosystem: lovelace.land

Earlier this year, the SEC classified $ADA as a digital commodity, not a security.
However, this classification only appears in the explanation of the new crypto rules, not in the rules themselves.
Six blockchain organizations have asked the SEC to write it into the rules. We co-signed the letter, alongside @StellarOrg, @Hedera, @AptosLabs, @AvaLabs and @Chainlink.

More regulation doesn’t mean better regulation.
We just released a response to the EU’s MiCA review consultation, where we call for greater regulatory clarity and to improve the existing framework rather than expanding it.

Introducing the Cardano Research Exchange #1
The Cardano Research Exchange is a series of live, interactive sessions that brings research happening across the Cardano ecosystem into the spotlight.
The aim is to make ongoing research more visible, give researchers a platform to share their work, and create opportunities for the community to contribute feedback and help shape what gets explored next.
The series welcomes research initiatives from across the ecosystem, including other research teams. Researchers can share ongoing work, discuss their findings, and gather input from the community, while participants get a better understanding of the research taking place across Cardano and the opportunity to contribute their own perspectives.
In this first episode, led by @manv_sc and Juan Ignacio Beccuti Vázquez, we take a high-level look at the @Cardano_CF's research initiatives.
This session serves as part 1 of a 3-part series, with the following two sessions taking a closer look at research related to "The Effect of Parameter Changes on SPO and Delegator Incentives."
Topics covered in Episode #1:
00:01 - Introduction to the Cardano Research Exchange
03:57 - Core Research Focus Areas
05:54 - Overview of Research Streams & Publications
08:35 - Ongoing Research Initiatives
13:22 - Upcoming Sessions: Parameter Changes, Incentives & Monetary Policy
