Something kind and stoical about His Holiness Pope Francis. Wishing him every grace in his hours of tribulation. I hope he can prevail.

So much chatter about the Pope resigning.
That’s not the norm. Or the custom.
Or what I think will happen.
It is, in some ways, part of the Petrine office and ministry to teach us how to die.
And I think, in these days of watching & worrying about Pope Francis, we have the chance to pray in a renewed way, for the comfort & healing of the aged & ill & those close to going home to the Lord, especially our Holy Father.

I have recently received many messages of affection, and I have been particularly struck by the letters and drawings from children. Thank you for your closeness, and for the consoling prayers I have received from all over the world!

It’s absolutely tragic and heartbreaking that the only women who have made it this far in a presidential election are obsessed with defending the killing of babies. As a woman, I’m ashamed.

Morning Prayer: Lord, a leper falls to his knees & begs for healing, you heal him. We are also in need of healing, physically, emotionally, psychologically - personally & corporately. Grace us with courage, like the leper, to come before you & name, tell you, what we need. Amen.

“Today my daughter changed her profile picture. After maybe 5 minutes I get a text..” I didn’t know she was dating a black boy, did you?
It took me all day to think up a response, which I didn’t send personally but thought I would share for anyone else that “may not know”
Yes in fact I did know, but the color of his skin doesn’t define who he is. What does define who is he is how he treats my daughter.
I see my daughter dating a boy that comes to my house and shows me nothing but respect (a big deal in my book).
It’s always Yes Ma’am, No Ma’am, we talk about football and baseball, he tells me bye when he leaves, and has not once shown me a lack of manners or respect.
I see my daughter dating a boy who treats her good. He takes her on dates, to ballgames, out to eat..not to a club or partying on the weekends.
I see my daughter dating a boy who takes her to church with him. Every Sunday. He plays in the band, she sits with his family. How many young men these days make church a priority?
None of the others have.
He doesn’t hit her, cuss her, lie to her, or make her cry. Would I rather her date a white boy that did, to keep from her dating another race? Absolutely not.
So that’s my response to the question I was asked.
And I know people have their own opinion, but at the end of the day, the fact that my daughter has someone that loves her and treats her like a queen makes me happy. That’s something I’ve never had in my life and I’m glad she does.”

If I say I love you in any language it doesn’t alter the meaning or value of the sentiment expressed. I would just understand it better if you said it to me in a language I understand. Latin was a much later development in the Church.

People, the secular media is positively clueless about all things Catholic. Even, journalists who identify as "Catholic". During these weeks of synod, you are going to hear all kinds of things about the Church. You're going to hear that things are "on the table" to be changed. You're going to hear that this meeting is "revolutionary" and " unprecedented". And, as media is not allowed in the sessions, I'm sure you're also going to see all sorts of interviews from Synod participants, possibly even from high-ranking members of the hierarchy. Please pay attention to what I'm about to say: NONE OF THESE WILL BE ACURATE, NONE OF THEM WILL PAINT THE WHOLE PICTURE, AND MANY OF THEM WILL BE FULTERED THROUGH POLITICAL AGENDAS. SO PLEASE, PAY LITTLE ATTENTION TO THEM. Please pray for the participants in the synod, pray for the Holy Spirit to speak to them and pray that we can spread the message of Christ to others. This is supposed to be a time when the Church is listening to the Holy Spirit. Pray for the people in those rooms. Pray for the people at those tables. Pray for the church. Don't listen to the noise.

While we are all called to be faithful to the Word of God as expressed in the doctrines of the Church, we are not called, however, to be correctors. Our Holy Father, Pope Francis, has drawn a lot of attention to this aspect of the Church’s mission. The Holy Father is not inviting us to consider changing our doctrines to be more acceptable to the world around us, but rather, to consider the ways in which we witness the truth and beauty of the Church’s definitive teachings in an effective way.

"Black people use racism as an excuse for their failures in a lot of things.
Racism makes us feel like victims and remember that victims never rise.
The reason we don't succeed after every war is because of our inability to move forward....
* We don't forgive,
* we keep focusing on the enemy instead of picking up the pieces and building afresh.
I think the reason the Afrikaaner nation was able to build themselves into a formidable nation was to forget the past and found ways to empower themselves.
The Afrikaaners were
* oppressed,
* confined to concentration camps by the English.
The Indians where brought here because the black man was too lazy to work in the sugar cane fields. They lived in desperate, poor conditions.....no lights, no running water, no proper housing.
Yet both nations rose and sent their kids to school.
* they were murdered in thousands,
* their women were raped and
* their babies starved to death in camps.
* But they rose, because they moved beyond the hatred of their enemies.
Instead of toyi-toying, they:
* built their own schools,
* taught and trained their kids to:
* work hard and farm the land.
* they taught their kids real values of respect (ubuntu).
The problem with us Black People, is that we see ourselves as victims. We feel sorry for ourselves and, therefore, feel that we deserve...
* Free things.
* Free houses,
* Free money.
We don't teach our kids the value of hard work.
Our greatest enemy as a black nation today is blaming everybody and hating ourselves.
We hate ourselves so much that:
* we destroy the things that belong to us.
* we destroy our schools,
* we destroy libraries
* we destroy hospitals that were all given to us by white money!
Check this out:
*1.* Of all the Black women raped yesterday, most of them were raped by Black men.
*2* . Of all the Black people that were robbed yesterday, most of them were done by Black men.
*3.* Of all the Black owned houses that were broken into yesterday, most done by Black men.
*4.* Of all young Black men that were shot and killed or stabbed to death yesterday, most were killed by our Black men.
*5.* Of all the Black owned cars that were hijacked yesterday, most were carried out by Black men.
*6.* Of all the ATM cards that were swapped, mostly by Black men.
*7.* Of all the Black owned cars that were involved in smash and grabs yesterday, most involved Black men.
This is self hate and it is destroying us, Black people.
Let's face our real demons (US) as a Black nation and rise to the occasion.
We have destroyed the culture of learning within our communities and replaced it with entertainment.
RACISM IS NOT OUR DOWNFALL.
BUT FAILURE TO FIND OURSELVES AND MOVE ON, MOST CERTAINLY IS!
We have over 20 years of freedom, WHAT HAVE WE DONE FOR OURSELVES?
* LET'S LEARN FROM OTHER NATIONS,
* LET'S LEARN FROM THE AFRIKAANER AND THE INDIANS AND GOD WILL HEAL US.
*THULI MADONSELA*
