Really useful post from @xKseilas on crypto card limits.
Maybe a build would be useful? Load fees, spend fees, FX fees?
They vary a lot…
You have $100,000 in USDC and try to buy a $50,000 watch.
9 of 12 popular crypto cards will decline on the spot.
Having $100,000 sitting in your card wallet does not mean the card will let you spend $50,000 in one tap. Most cards hard-cap a single swipe or lock you behind a hidden default slider long before Visa ever sees the payment.
Here is what happens when you tap for $50,000 across 12 crypto cards.
Group 1: The $50,000 swipe goes through
1. @SolidYield: up to ~$750,000 per transaction
Spending limits scale with your spendable balance up to roughly $750,000 in a single purchase. Swipes above ~$250,000 can trigger an extra verification step from Visa.
2. @RedotPay: $100,000 per transaction / $1,000,000 per day
The card limit table allows $100,000 on a single purchase and $1,000,000 a day, as long as you did not set a lower per-purchase cap inside the app. (Watch the fee though: a $50,000 USD swipe from crypto still costs 1% conversion, or $500.)
3. @KASTxyz: no fixed transaction cap
KAST sets no preset per-transaction, daily, or monthly card spending limit on any tier. You can spend up to your available balance, though a $50,000 swipe can still be flagged for a manual compliance or fraud check.
Group 2: It declines unless you change a setting or pay for a higher tier first
4. @ether_fi Cash: declines at $5,000 by default
Out of the box, every ether.fi card defaults to a $5,000 daily card limit, and the account-wide Vault defaults to a $10,000 daily and $10,000 monthly limit. Whichever limit is lower wins. Unless you manually open Settings and raise both the Card limit and the Vault limit before you walk into the store, a $50,000 swipe fails immediately.
5. @Tangem Pay: declines on Basic ($10,000/day), passes on Plus ($50,000/day)
On the free Basic plan, daily card spending stops at $10,000. To clear a $50,000 purchase in one day, you have to be on the Plus plan ($29.99/month), where the daily POS limit is $50,000.
Group 3: Hard decline at the terminal, no matter how much USDC you hold
6. @wirexapp: capped at €30,000 per purchase
Virtual, Plastic, and Metal cards all cap a single purchase at €30,000 (and €30,000/month on Virtual and Plastic, €75,000/month on Metal). Only Metal cardholders can request a custom limit increase in advance.
7. @cryptocom: capped at $25,000 / €25,000 per day and per month
Even on Obsidian, the Prepaid Visa Card caps POS purchases at $25,000 (or €25,000 in Europe) per day and per month, and the card itself cannot hold a balance above $25,000 / €25,000.
8. @MetaMask Card: capped at $10,000 (Free) or $20,000 (Metal)
The free virtual card stops at $10,000 per transaction ($15,000/day). Paying $199/year for Metal raises that to $20,000 per transaction ($30,000/day). A $50,000 swipe still fails.
9. @Nexo: capped at €10,000 / £9,000 per transaction and per day
Standard Nexo Card limits stop at €10,000 (or £9,000) per single purchase and per day, with a €60,000 monthly ceiling. To get higher card limits, you have to qualify for Nexo Private ($100,000+ portfolio) and get custom terms.
10. @Bybit_Official (EEA): capped at €5,000 to €15,000 per day
Tier 1 stops at €5,000/day (€10,000/month), Tier 2 stops at €10,000/day (€25,000/month), and even Tier 3 stops at €15,000/day (€50,000/month).
11. @Krak (EEA / UK): capped at €6,000 / £5,000 per transaction
Krak allows €12,000/day in the EEA and £22,000/day in the UK, but caps any single swipe at €6,000 or £5,000.
12. @gnosispay: capped at €/£/$5,000 per transaction
Hard cap of 5,000 EURe, GBPe, or USDCe per single purchase and 8,000 per 24 hours.
3 things I check before making a 5-figure payment on a crypto card:
1. The two-slider trap: on self-custody cards like ether.fi or MetaMask, you often have both a per-card limit in the app and a vault or token spending approval on-chain. If either one sits at its default, the terminal declines.
2. Per-swipe vs daily cap: Krak in the UK allows £22,000 a day, but only £5,000 in a single swipe. You cannot pay a £15,000 invoice in one charge unless the merchant splits it into three payments.
3. The conversion fee on size: 1% crypto conversion feels invisible on a $4 coffee. On a $50,000 watch, 1% is $500 gone in a single tap.
What is the biggest single purchase you have ever cleared on a crypto card?

A shout-out to @NanoGPTcom, who have been doing this for months; we also wanted to share which coins are used on CardsRelay.
The two giants, Bitcoin and Ethereum, only had a combined 1.3% share of what our customers paid with. @monero alone had 51.4%.
The full picture, by share of sales value:
1) XMR 51.4%
2) USDT 27.6%
3) ZANO 8.9%
4) ZEC 4.5%
5) 7.6% shared between SOL, USDC, fUSD, ETH, BTC and LTC.
The coins, one at a time.
Monero has the anarchic image but an amazing back office. Its directories and review sites are better structured than most, helping its users discover new services.
@zano_project, who we've been close to since day 1, took 8.9% in a month where payments were unavailable for the final stretch. Let's hope for a recovery in October.
USDT is an interesting one. The @solana network carried 85.1% of it, with BNB Chain at 8.1% and Ethereum at 6.7%. Solana is fast and cheap. We don't accept USDT on Tron, as it's the opposite.
@Zcash has the market cap, but a much thinner infrastructure than XMR. Its directories and listings are far less structured, so discovery is slower.
One to Watch? @Dashpay was enabled on 2 October, and it will certainly be moving up the leaderboard next month.
One month is a snapshot, and a few large orders can swing a single coin’s share, but we're genuinely curious to see how this develops.
A question to you: which coins do you think we should also focus on in the future? And why...
Working smoothly, as it does order after order. Thanks for sharing @Pinkman_Zano
Today, I decided to try buying a Carrefour gift card through CardsRelay, paying with ZANO! 💳
The result? Gift card received in just 5 minutes, maybe even less! 🚀
So I’m going to take the opportunity to do a little grocery shopping for the start of the week.
Temperatures are slowly dropping here in France 🇫🇷, and I think raclette season is officially open! 🧀 🥓😋
Add a nice bottle of white wine to go with it, and we’re all set! 🍷
Just another example of how ZANO can already be used for everyday purchases! 😎

Great to have @_PIVX on board and to further support growing coin communities with a great gift card solution.
Looking forward to seeing you on site and on our X!
