Either we enact laws to protect workers or I am starting a pitchfork business.
BREAKING: Microsoft, $MSFT, is offering buyouts to 60,000 workers as part of the company’s efforts to cut costs amid AI adoption, per Bloomberg. Personnel on select teams in the US, Canada, India, and the UK at a vice president level and below will be eligible. This reflects ~27% of Microsoft's total workforce.

Why are no politicians running on introducing legislation to curb AI driven layoffs? How is this not a top focus for left leaning parties around the globe?

Society - all of us, are going to get stuck with the bill from companies doing this. This will be an indirect subsidy unless we start putting laws in place that force companies to take more responsibility for the employees they make redundant due to AI.

I’ve been in the securities law space for a long time and how it is ok for the CEO of a listed company to push these fantasies in public without more asking questions about price manipulation, is completely beyond me. There is a reason you’ve never heard a serious CEO do this.
Elon Musk says he sees $SPCX annual recurring revenue to land between $500 billion and $1 trillion by the end of 2027.

My dyslexia demands that any new time measurement based on press sec time in office be a Jones, Smith or Brown.

Which means we have our first trans press sec.
A senior White House official tells @pdoocy Katie ZACHARIA is “transitioning out” of the press secretary position.

83% of the American public carries an unfavorable view of Russia. It’s two weeks before midterm elections. Will you finally stand up for your values, Americans? Which way shall we go? Time to decide.

What people do need is that the world’s richest man stops promoting fascism. People need to get their priorities right.

People are idiots happily blinded by whatever shiny object Musk puts in front of them. First, do you need a car that flips or drives upside down, Andrew? Does anyone? Think this real or will ever go into production? Maybe focus more on him facilitating fascism than flipping cars.
That Tesla demo was the most impressive thing ever. I had to double check that it was real and not AI. Wow.

The question I have for you, Tom is are you still a real person, or have you replaced him with Pie?

Some EU 'leaders' are suggesting that Zelensky flatter Trump's ego. Look: that hasn't worked. Putin controls Trump's behavior via carrots and sticks. Nothing Zelensky says is going to change that. Ukrainians deserve their dignity, and have every right to fight like hell.
