Start them early – listening to #SeanGalliard, and my youngest says, “I want to listen.” What does that tell us?! Our youngest learners are looking at us. Questions Sean asked that are so powerful to take into this school year in the comments.

What does empathy look like in the classroom? Do you think you could share that (“every educator has a gift to share”)? What better place to make a mistake than in the schoolhouse? “Leadership is not about the leader. It’s about creating other leaders”.

One more thought... As leaders, we must be able to improvise, but with a thoughtful and clear plan and the basics of pedagogy in place. We must facilitate connections, trials, experimentations, and failures with invitational and supportive language.
