Unemployment up, growth weak, debt soaring. Labour’s 300-page (Un)Employment Bill isn’t about workers’ rights - it’s a gift to their trade union mates. We can’t afford it. We’ll take a chainsaw to its job-killing measures. Politicians talk of cutting red tape: we’ll deliver.

Going to see some friends in Bath this weekend and was intending to go by train. Only to hear that @GWRHelp don’t think they will have any drivers again this Sunday. Is this true?

Has @OxfordshireCC cut your child's #SpareSeat bus place to school? If so, please spread the word about my motion tomorrow and get in touch to share your experience. #Oxfordshire parents and carers deserve better. – at Banbury, England

The residents of #Oxfordshire really do deserve better than this chaos. Whilst the coalition spent millions of pounds on funding their pet projects they failed to get the basic services rights. It’s time for change at the county council.

@GroupOx Cllrs & @OxonTories will always do right by #SEND families. I have been calling for #Labour & #LibDem Cllrs to take action for c.10 months now. Whatever the outcome of ensuing negotiations, we must have good governance @OxfordshireCC & we must put SEND families first. – at Banbury, England

😞 Today has been a shameful day for #Oxfordshire as a damning Ofsted report has found “widespread and/or systemic failings” in the county councils Special Educational Needs and Disabilities service. A key duty as county councillors and as a council is to protect the most vulnerable in our county but tragically the council and senior councillors have failed. Whilst the coalition focus spending millions funding their divisive anti-motorist traffic schemes they’ve failed to address the funding issues around SEND. The parents and residents of Oxfordshire deserve more than just an apology and should expect resignations to follow. They must do better immediately. oxfordmail.co.uk/news/237912…

This is so worrying. – at South East, England
Enough is enough. @OxfordshireCC exists, above all else, to look after the vulnerable. #Labour & #LibDem Cllrs rejected our costed proposals to invest extra money in #SEND. They overlooked good care & indulged in pet projects. Time to take responsibility: oxfordmail.co.uk/news/237912…

The #LibDems failed 20mph rollout plan is a complete mess. Serious lack of consultation with residents, some signs put up in the wrong place, and speed cameras now redundant. All this and the taxpayers of #Oxfordshire are picking up the £8m tab for the rollout. It could have all been done so much better.

Weeks after i campaigned to stop a planning application BY the Liberal and Green councillors at SODC from tarmacking over a wildflower meadow in Didcot…. I get invited to instead create a new wildflower meadow. Desperate attempt to hide their contempt for Didcot. #Elections2023

What is going on?
Vital traffic data was withheld by @OxfordshireCC ahead of its controversial decision on bus filters. We’ve written to OCC Chief Executive calling for an urgent investigation, a fresh consultation & key decision to be made by full council. Public trust in OCC must be restored 👇

Council pushed through tough restrictions on car use as part of deal to win £3m of @DfT funding for fleet of 159 electric buses It made written pledge in March 2022 that #OxfordTrafficFilters would definitely be approved - almost 6 months before public consultation in September

The council claiming the decision on bus gates was “sound” is comical! ☑️ Emails show they collaborated with DfT to get bus funding in return for implementing bus gates 6 months ahead of the actual consultation. ☑️ They deliberately withheld traffic impact data as they were concerned it could impact the consultation result. ☑️ The Labour cabinet member for Transport couldn’t take part in the decision as he told The Times, “It’s going to happen, definitely” before the consultation was over. They are pushing through their anti-motorist pet projects and are lying to #Oxfordshire residents. There needs to be a full investigation into this conduct of both council staff and the cabinet members involved in this process. oxfordmail.co.uk/news/233653…
