If you’ve already decided to add CMC mining power, compare three things before choosing how to spread the commitment.
1. When the power starts participating
Power counts toward allocations once it becomes effective under the rules. With additions made in stages, the later portions start participating later. They do not earn allocations for earlier periods.
2. What each addition costs
Check the CMC purchase price, the applicable burn-to-power conversion ratio and fees. For several additions, record each separately and total the costs. Splitting them up does not guarantee a lower cost.
3. What remains available to you
CMC already burned cannot be recovered. Staging leaves the uncommitted portion available, while later prices, conversion ratios and network mining power may change.
Put the costs and effective dates side by side. The better fit depends on your own plans; subsequent CMC allocations still depend on period output and your share of network power.
