One of best things about being a Janet Jackson fan is watching people discover how amazing she is. “It’s not just her beauty, because she’s beautiful inside and out. It’s not just her stunning choreography. It’s not just her ridiculous understanding of music. My God. She has done almost every genre of music you can think of, and it’s phenomenal. And it’s not just her love of herself, her presence, her power, or her unapologetic sexuality. But for me, when I see this woman, especially as a Black woman, I’m like, “Oh my God, you have literally done it all.” You have so unapologetically stepped into your power. Control was clearly one of the first expressions of that, but to see that power continue to elevate and evolve is so inspiring.
