We spent $22 trillion to “fight poverty.” But 70% of that money $15.4 trillion, never touched the poor. It went to the people who serve the poor, not the ones who are poor! That’s not liberation. That’s a business model. They don’t ask, “How do we solve it?” They ask, “How do we fund it?

When states and cities allow enough homes to be built for everyone, it improves housing affordability overall. But the evidence shows it benefits renters in low-income neighborhoods most. pewtrsts.org/4l4RDj6

The central experiences of childhood trauma are silence, isolation, and helplessness. Healing, then, must involve a restoration of voice, safe connection, and rightful power. Healing does not usually occur in isolation. It occurs in the context of a safe relationship.

#BlackChristianWomen: We come from a rich and storied oratorical and rhetorical tradition. But don't let smooth words from Michelle Obama, Barack Obama, Tyler Perry, Beyonce, Kerri Washington, or any other Black celebs divert you from the truth of God's word. Abortion is Wrong.

Kamala at the end of her interview with NABJ. She couldn’t get out of there fast enough. She left frowning. I swear they were limited in their scope of questions. And the journalists faces at the end 😳 This one didn’t go so well. @KamalaHarris You’re fired!

This evening, a student group at @UofSC will host far-right radicals for a vulgar roast of @VP @KamalaHarris. Nothing — least of all differences in politics — can warrant gross, defamatory propaganda or blatant racism and sexualization. We need better. postandcourier.com/opinion/c…

Amber undoubtably deserved better. the glaring omission here, though, is the fact that she'd taken *legal* abortion pills. her child was dead from a legal abortion; without a heartbeat, the GA law wouldn't prohibit a D&C at all. this is clearly the doctors' fault, not the law's
Amber Thurman had leftover fetal tissue in her body, developed sepsis, and needed a D&C. But Georgia's abortion ban had made performing this procedure a felony, with few exceptions. It took 20 hours for doctors to finally operate. By then, it was too late propublica.org/article/georg…

Don’t compare @HillaryClinton to Shirley Chisholm. Hillary’s husband was president for 8 years. She was elected to the senate in state she never lived in. She’s the epitome of being placed. Chisholm clawed her way into history. Just stop.
