Alex Pretti's father: We wish Alex was alive. This administration has taken that away from us. We will no longer stay silent about the actions of the Department of Justice. What we have been treated to is cruelty. By Dan Rosen in the US Attorney's office, from the Attorney General Todd Blanche, who has ignored our letter begging for basic information. They have shielded Alex's killers. This is not justice.

Today we remember the 11 worshippers at a synagogue in Pittsburgh who were murdered by a gun-wielding neo-Nazi. Eight years later, we keep the memories of the victims alive and express solidarity with the synagogue’s three congregations: New Light, Dor Hadash and Tree of Life. May the memories of those who perished in this savage antisemitic attack stay strong as we work toward a more just and peaceful world for all.

The media deserve the blame here. Competent reporters would point out that there are virtually no transgender athletes in college sports EVERY time Republicans yelled about. Their job is to provide information; it's not complicated.
In a new poll, 15% of Americans said they believe between 1 and 5% of NCAA athletes are transgender.
14% think between it's between 6 and 25%.
Meanwhile, an NCAA spokesperson confirmed that the current number is "effectively" zero

⭕️ ICE arrested Phillip James, a U.S. citizen, in January and has held him in detention ever since, according to an Associated Press investigation.
James, who has paranoid schizophrenia, said that he was born in Jamaica, but a Florida birth certificate and a 1988 paternity case show that he was born in Orange County, Florida. He was also issued a U.S. passport. An immigration judge ordered James’ deportation to Jamaica in April, though Jamaica said that it has no record of his being born there.
His lawyers have petitioned federal judge Damon Leichty for his release.
Since January, ICE has detained and sought to deport a man to Jamaica. But an AP investigation has found documents that support claims by his lawyers that he's a U.S. citizen. apnews.com/article/ice-immig…

Prosecutors said Milton should owe $660.8 million to victims of his fraud. He received a pardon from President Trump two weeks later.

Coffee consumption, both caffeinated and decaf, is consistently linked to better metabolic health, including a lower risk of type 2 diabetes.
There are plausible mechanisms behind this association. Coffee’s polyphenols, including chlorogenic acids, and caffeine can activate AMPK, a cellular energy sensor involved in fat burning and glucose regulation. Experimental research also suggests chlorogenic acid can suppress glucose production in the liver.
Much of this comes from cell and animal studies, so it helps explain the association, but doesn’t prove that coffee prevents diabetes in humans.
Drinking 2–3 cups of coffee daily is associated with a lower risk of type 2 diabetes
Both caffeine and chlorogenic acids can activate AMPK, a cellular regulator that ramps up fat-burning and glucose uptake while dialing down growth pathways
This is the same energy-sensing pathway activated by fasting and exercise, offering one potential explanation for coffee’s link to better metabolic health
Coffee may also influence glucose regulation through reduced inflammation and changes in gut bacteria
