In the name of Christian unity on Reformation Day, I think we should all agree that Martin Luther was right about the perpetual virginity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist.

Sola Scriptura:
Alright I’ll bite.
TL; DR: Masturbation isn’t sinful as long as there’s no porn or fantasizing
So as a single Christian, I’ve wrestled with this. And I’ve come to an answer that it isn’t sinful.
First off sex outside of marriage is sinful. Hebrews 13:4 says “Marriage is honorable and the marriage bed is undefiled, but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.”
That doesn’t just mean sexual intercourse but any behavior with another human being that leads to sexual gratification.
Second, beyond behavior, lust is a sin. Matthew 5:27-8 says “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery’; but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
Now what is lust? Lust is a desire to have sexual release from another person you are thinking about, whether that person is a real person like your girlfriend or a person on a screen in porn or an imaginary person in erotica. Sexual attraction for a person isn’t inherently dirty. Sexual attraction for a person is a part of what it means to be a mature human. It was meant by God to be channeled into a marriage relationship between a man and a woman. But when sin came into the world it distorted everything God made including sexual desire.
Sexual desire between a husband and wife is sacred and ordered. Lust for a person you are not married to is sinful and disordered.
So sexual behavior outside of marriage and lust towards a person whether real or imaginary is a sin. But what about masturbation? Well to answer that we have to define what is masturbation?
Masturbation is touching one’s body in erogenous parts of your body to achieve sexual release/orgasm.
So is it sinful? Well let’s look back at what the Bible says is sinful: sexual behavior with a person is sinful. So masturbating with a girlfriend, or a friend for that matter is sinful. Lust is sinful. So masturbation that is accompanied by thinking sexual desire for a person is a sin. So masturbation using porn or erotica is definitely sinful.
But what about masturbation that doesn’t involve porn? I don’t believe it’s sinful.
The reason I don’t think it’s sinful is simple. Ejaculation isn’t sinful and the need for the human body to ejaculate isn’t sinful. It’s a natural process of our bodies as dudes designed to get semen out of our bodies. The only ways it gets out of a single man’s body is either a wet dream or masturbation.
I don’t know anyone who says a wet dream is sinful. Neither is masturbation. If someone is using porn or lusting after another person then yes it’s sinful. If you aren’t using porn, and if you are not doing it with another person, and if your body is responding to the physical sensations, then it isn’t sinful.
You’re free to make the wisest decision for your situation.
Now the question arises: is Masturbation wise? I’d say that if it becomes addictive, then you should stop. Over time, if it’s done too much, it can fry your brain and make it more difficult to be intimate with your spouse when the time comes.
But done in moderation, I don’t see it as unwise. And it definitely isn’t by itself sinful.
A clearly correct and well-crafted post... if properly understood.
Faith can be embodied in all cultures, because it does not identify itself with any of them in a specific one. It dwells within them, shaping them from within according to the “form” of Jesus Christ; that is, through charity, service and the filial recognition of God’s fatherhood. In this way, the Church draws from the various cultures all that is good, beautiful and true, in order to embody and transmit the message of the Gospel. #GeneralAudience

Well, another Cardinal has come out with a, shall we say, puzzling take on evangelization.
A few years ago, Cardinal Américo Aguiar, at the time auxiliary bishop of Lisbon, said that he and the other organizers of World Youth Day in his hometown had no interest in converting anyone to Christ.
Now Cardinal Jean-Paul Vesco of Algeria has opined that “the Church is not there to convert” and “Christians should approach other religions through fraternity rather than seeking conversions.”
Excuse me, but…what?
Last time I checked, the Founder said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Sure sounds like conversion to me.
When St. Paul came to Corinth or Athens or Thessalonica, his purpose was not to listen or to form a discussion group but rather to declare an unnerving message: the euangelion (glad tidings) that Jesus Christ is risen from the dead.
So impassioned is he for this work that he says, “I have become all things to all people, that I might by all means save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel” (1 Cor. 9:22); and “If I proclaim the gospel, this gives me no ground for boasting, for an obligation is laid on me, and woe to me if I do not proclaim the gospel” (1 Cor. 9:16)!
Moreover, the entire thrust of the Second Vatican Council was toward bringing the Light of Christ to the peoples of the world (Lumen Gentium). And this missionary élan has given rise in the last few decades to the idea of a “new evangelization,” which is to say, a fresh declaration of the Lordship of Christ.
Quite obviously, no one thinks that this work of evangelization should be done in a brow-beating, overbearing, or disrespectful manner (proselytization), but for God’s sake, let’s not throw the baby out with the bathwater.
If I really thought that the Church does not exist to bring people to Christ, then I would resign and get an honest job.

.@jamestalarico, who supports abortion up until the moment of birth, now says that he wants to “reduce the number of abortions.” But why? If abortion doesn’t murder a baby, why reduce the number of them? And if it does, why permit them?

No one would be more devastated to see Mary treated this way than Jesus Christ. For a "pastor" to be handing hammers to children to smash statues of the most important woman who ever lived is blatantly evil.
This is quite literally what Islamic terrorists do to erase the Christian faith in the Middle East... & here we are doing this in American church services in the name of Christianity.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners.

This is worse than Islam.
Episcopal priestess says Mary assigned Jesus male at birth, but he was trans. And when he was resurrected, he came back as His true, transgender self.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Mary did not assign a gender to Jesus. Mary was told before his birth that Jesus would be a male.
Luke 1:30-31 – "But the angel said to her, 'Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.'"

Genuinely one of the sickest videos I’ve ever seen.
The gender reveal announced a baby girl.
Then her mother took chemical abortion pills on camera after finding out she was pregnant with a girl.
Absolutely diabolical.
Feminists tell us every day that girls deserve to be protected from violence and discrimination. But abortion makes it possible to kill a preborn girl simply because she is a girl.
Where is the outrage for HER?
There is NOTHING pro-woman about abortion.

It's hard to keep attributing this to 'honest mistakes'.
Huff is either repeatedly talking about things he is uneducated in, which is itself irresponsible, or he is intentionally spreading misinformation about history to make Catholicism look bad.
He has repeatedly done on the biggest podcasts in the world, and because he is marketed as a world-renowned 'Bible historian' the hosts of these shows and their audiences just drink up whatever he's saying.
I really try not to attribute motives to people, but Wesley Huff is either maliciously lying about Catholicism to large audiences or he is willfully ignorant in a field he claims to be an expert in. Either way, he needs to be held accountable.

What do you mean Constantine commissioned Jerome!???? Constantine was dead in 337ad! There seems to be a pattern with Wes that when he is in front of a large audience, he is going to try to PsyOp as many listeners as he can WITH LIES!
Pope Damasus commissioned Jerome in 382ad to translate the Bible almost 50 years after Constantine died. Source below.
@BreeSolstad, this is who you’re siding with, respectfully please steer away from apologetics, these are serious matters of the soul. Sharing our faith is what you’re good at, pls stick with that.
