Here is where I stand on the Lewis v Charles debate, and I made this point in my commentary on @5liveSport on Sunday in Mexico; make Lewis #1 Ferrari driver. Sort it out. Make it clear. Ends all debate. Lewis will deliver for Ferrari. If they back him 100%

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Alan Jones. A true Williams legend, Alan formed an extraordinary bond with Frank Williams and Patrick Head and made history by winning our first Drivers’ World Championship in 1980. He set the standard for Williams champions: a fast, uncompromising racer with a challenger mentality who loved motor racing and dedicated his life to it. He will be dearly missed, and we send our love and thoughts to his family and friends.

We are very saddened to hear of the passing of World Champion Alan Jones. ‘Jonesy’ made his first F1 entrance at the 1975 Spanish Grand Prix with the Hesketh squad before going on to famously claim the title in 1980 alongside Frank Williams at his eponymous team. A fierce racer and competitive spirit Rest In Peace

Very sad news. He was a gritty, determined racer. Could have defended his world title in 1981 were it not for teammate Carlos Reutemann ignoring team orders in Rio that season. Rest in peace.
We are deeply saddened to learn that Alan Jones has passed away at the age of 80. Jones won the 1980 F1 world drivers’ championship for Williams and won 12 grands prix across his career in the series. The Australian also won the 1978 Can-Am championship. Motor Sport sends its deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Alan.

What was Oscar supposed to do? He couldn’t just disappear. It was a racing incident. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Following the recent decision from Haas F1 Team confirming that I will not be participating in this weekend’s Mexico City Grand Prix, I wish to formally address some media reports and speculation surrounding the situation. Last night, a difference in viewpoints led to a discussion with the parties involved. Whilst I acknowledge that this took place, I categorically reject any reports or allegations suggesting that any form of physical violence was used to resolve any differences of any nature. I strongly condemn violence in all its forms and firmly believe that disagreements should always be handled with professionalism, respect, and mutual understanding. I kindly ask that speculation be avoided while the matter is being addressed. Further updates will be communicated in due course.

Good on Jeremy Clarkson, slamming the inane F1 coverage from recent years: “THERE ARE PEOPLE HERE WHO DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT A CAR IS… WHY DO I CARE ABOUT KIM KARDASHIAN? I DON’T. “THE CAMERAS GO ‘OOH KIM KARDASHIAN’S HERE. I’M JUST HERE TO WATCH FORMULA ONE”

I take it the fans do not like the man presenting the winner’s trophy to Kimi Antonelli. #USGP

The way Kimi Antonelli was punching the air to his team as he crossed the line reminded me of Jenson Button when he was winning races. #USGP

It’s not done yet, but Kimi Antonelli absolutely 100% deserves the title. George unfortunately lacks the bottle when he crumbles under pressure. #USGP

Unless there's an interesting feature, the hashtag is a reminder of why I stopped watching #ThisMorning full-time about eight years ago. More fun than the actual programme.
