11 years ago on this week’s #NewComicBookDay Marvel faced off the Superior Spider-Man against Kaine in Superior Spider-Man Team-Up #2. Let’s just say Otto Octavius was pretty ticked off about Kaine killing him in the 90s. Christ Yost and Marco Checchetto were the creators.
40 years ago #ThisWeekInMarvel, Mary Jane Watson admitted she has long known the terrible truth about Peter Parker in Amazing Spider-Man #257. Another banger from Tom DeFalco and Ron Frenz.
Cheesecake lives! 8 years ago on this week’s #NewComicBookDay Dan Slott, Christos Gage and Giuseppe Camuncoli wrapped the “Power Play” arc in Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 4) #15. This story marked the return of Regent, who Slott previously introduced in Renew Your Vows.
The Superior Spider-Man, remember him? Well, he’s back in Pog form.

Going back to that ASM arc a few months ago, the answer to the question: when did Flint Marko become William Baker?

This should brighten some days in Spider-Man-land…
20 years ago #ThisWeekInMarvel, J. Michael Straczynski and Mike Deodato Jr. brought us Amazing Spider-Man #509, aka the first chapter in the almost universally reviled “Sins Past” arc.
I think this two-parter that explains the more than 15-year absence of Harry Osborn (until Nick Spencer retconned it) was far better than it had any right to be.

The most recent issue of Amazing Spider-Man has some pretty fun Spider-Man vs. Chasm art courtesy of Ed McGuinness so for today’s artist spotlight we’re going to reach back to earlier in the run for some more McGuinness/Chasm art.
These covers, like pretty much all of the stories in this series, rarely missed.

The ASM and Spectacular anniversary hologram issues are definitely better stories but this Web of issue is more of a proper anniversary story.
