A Walgreens worker admitted taking ONE pill from a customer’s prescription.
Then management said the bottle was 13 pills short.
But this story gets a lot sadder once you hear what she told the deputy.
Police were called to a Walgreens in Sebastian, Florida, after a pharmacy employee was accused of removing a customer’s prescription from the pharmacy area.
The employee admitted taking one pill, saying she was overwhelmed, exhausted and struggling with serious problems at home.
She insisted she did not take the other missing pills and said the discrepancy was the result of a counting mistake.
Then, before she was taken into custody, she asked the deputy if they could walk outside first so her coworkers and customers wouldn’t have to watch.
She was arrested in connection with the prescription medication.
Her circumstances don’t make taking someone else’s medication okay.
But hearing everything she said she was carrying makes this one difficult to watch.
Sometimes one terrible decision comes at the end of a very long stretch of terrible days.
Wall Street had analysts, economists, research teams and million-dollar strategies.
Raven had darts.
In 1999, the chimpanzee picked 10 internet stocks by throwing darts at a list of 133 companies.
Her portfolio, called the MonkeyDex, gained an astonishing 213%.
That performance reportedly would have ranked her 22nd among thousands of U.S. money managers.
In other words…
A chimpanzee throwing darts beat most of Wall Street.
There was one big catch: this was the height of the dot-com boom, when internet stocks were soaring. Once the bubble burst, Raven’s spectacular gains disappeared too.
So no, she wasn’t secretly a financial genius.
But for one glorious year, some of the smartest people on Wall Street got humbled by a chimp with a dartboard.
The stock market really does have a sense of humor.

A pirate in a Max Headroom mask, and nobody has ever figured out who.
On a November night in 1987 they briefly hijacked Chicago's WGN, then broke into WTTW during an episode of Doctor Who later that night.
Engineers who studied it believed it took real broadcast expertise to pull off.
The FCC investigated, but the hijackers were never identified or charged.
I hope it stays unsolved.
The mystery is the whole appeal.

Warren G sampled the opening of Regulate straight off a VHS of Young Guns. Him and Nate were already using “regulate” as slang, then he heard this line and knew that was it. Still one of the cleanest intros in hip-hop.
