Newer faces move past you while you remain exactly where you started.Being African and an immigrant adds another layer. You already carry the visa, the distance from home, the need to prove yourself twice. Then you hear how some people speak about โtoo manyโ of us, or about others whose papers will simply expire. You are expected to absorb it and keep plating.
I am still here. Still doing the job. But the energy is not the same. The craft deserves better than quiet endurance. So do the people who give it everything and are left in place.๐
