I want my readers to question what they thought they knew. I want them to pause while reading to adjust the framework of their understanding. And I want them to grow with my characters and also to break with them. I want my readers to feel all the things I feel when I’m writing.
When you're so frustrated by how inarticulate you are with a message, you don't just minimize the window, you close the whole app.
Therapist talking to me about my people pleasing: "Wow! I am really impressed by your progress! You're doing so well"
Me: "Thanks! I aim to please!" 😃👍
Sometimes it costs more to hold onto something. Sometimes you need to let go so that you're free to take hold of something new.
Sometimes I have to remind myself that I'm only 28 even though I hang out with older people. I see people who are like 25 and I think "they're babies" and then remember that I'm only 3 years older than them. I is baby.

It's important to remember that meditation is not the act of sitting cross-legged and saying "ome". It's the process of expanding yourself into your own mind and finding comfort there. However you do that, do it.
