I was pleased to contribute to the Bell review. School is where children should feel safest. But I was shocked by the abuse and antisemitism faced by Jewish children. The recommendations must lead to better protection for children and more support for teachers.
Antisemitism has no place in our schools, colleges or society. We accept all 27 recommendations from Sir David Bell’s review. We will equip schools and colleges to identify and challenge antisemitism, strengthen Holocaust education and help every young person learn in safety.

Georgia Gould: The Child Lottery exposes how infrastructure around children and families has been cut back. Gov working to help young people thrive across the board. Young people tell me they want decisions taken closer to home by local leaders, so services respond to challenges.

Tim Bowman: In some ways, lost our focus on delivering for every child. Need to look at children’s issues and how we can better support children’s experiences. Devolution offers the chance to look at how we support workforce to deliver for children.

As Education Secretary, I am fully focused on closing the gaps that appear, even in early childhood. Reimagining childhood and rewiring the state so that outcomes for children drive what we do - that’s what this government is all about.
